This famous white sausage eating contest happened in Munich in 1952. The winner was the fellow second from the left. He managed fifteen sausages in one minute and forty five seconds.
My second thought was a memory of a butcher's shop in Suffolk. It was located at the end of a row of old cottages, on the side of a quiet country road, in what appeared to be the front room. All the locals went there for their sausages and I assume from further afield as I can't imagine making a living otherwise. Sausages were meaty, sufficiently dotted with fat for moistness, with a gamey flavour and aroma that almost made you swoon. Modern sausages are a disgrace in comparison.
I hope those are cooked !
ReplyDeleteClose-ups would be very misleading. And, yes, words are pointless here.

ReplyDeleteOne word comes to mind. Trichinosis.........

DeleteWTF!
ReplyDeleteTechnique is everything, or so I'm told.

ReplyDeleteI had weisswurst (white sausages) in a beer hall in Munich once. Didn't care for them. Beer was good, though.
