Back to choir tonight and it was joyous!
I was sooo glad to be back
We sang a version of the South African Nkosi Sikelel' lAfrica followed by the Welsh lullaby Cysgu di fly mhlentys tiws (Sleep my little Children) both of which are new to us
Choirmaster Jamie ( still sporting his 1940 RAF moustache) informed us that he wants us to sing in a massive community choir get together on the South Bank in London in the Autumn
How wonderful
I'm game .....
WOW, The South Bank!
ReplyDeleteCan I have your autograph now please, before you make 'the big time'! X
Good-lookin' fella that Jamie. Performing up in London sounds like it would be fun.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! Jamie really has it together as a choirmaster!
ReplyDeleteIt’s nice to feel your exuberance.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to experience it
DeleteWhat a beautiful thing you are part of! The lifting of hearts on voices is a great gift.
ReplyDeleteIt was a gift from someone higher than I
DeleteThose autumn plans sound exciting!
ReplyDeleteThey do, I'm making lots of plans
DeleteSee you in London. M xx
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Lots of Going Gently fans in the audience xxx
DeleteHa....great response! M x
DeleteIf I was in the UK, I would be there!!!
DeleteJo in Auckland
So would I...mardy 🇨🇦
DeleteGreat way to start the year.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a big lift out of your Christmas humbuggery! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteA man who can wear a mustache always has my attention. And it sounds like tons of fun! Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteXoXo
The best moustache was Chris Pratt in Jurassic world
DeleteThis is accurate 👍🏽
DeleteGosh, I would love to be there and enjoy the music.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Wonderful stuff. And look at his chin too.
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
ReplyDeleteSomething to aim for sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour choirmaster knows how to motivate his team! That is going to be a blast.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! And what a wonderful event, a community of choirs serenading London! The Queen will be pleased...
ReplyDeleteWonderful news x
ReplyDeleteChoir of the year competition on TV next then!
ReplyDeleteInspired by your positivityx enjoy the choir you are moving forward into a new future and I admire that it's not easy is it but in the words of encouragement you gave me the other day tits out and up hope I got that right! Hugs x
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting such pleasure from the choir John.
ReplyDeleteUntil twenty years ago I always sang in a choir somewhere and I loved it. Now my hearing is such that I find it difficult to get in on the right note - I am no asset to a choir any more I am afraid.
Errol Flynn?
ReplyDeleteIn every way?
DeletePencilled in. Perhaps a 'John the dogs' badge could be issued so your followers in the audience can identify each other. :D xx
ReplyDeleteMarvellous idea. Or we could all wear Winnie masks to easily identify each other in the crowd and then ambush John in his "dressing" room. Can you imagine what a great impromptu party that would be? Bet there'd be a few surprises among his blogging friends. Says she, with a Cheshire cat grin.
DeleteThis is absolutely the nest idea ever!
DeleteDoes the 14-year-old choir master look as rakish with the mustache or is it peach fuzz?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great start to your New Year. The world is your oyster xx
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that Choir continues to give you such joy. Onwards and upwards, and all the way to London. All the best,John.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful event to anticipate! Hope it will available on You Tube for those of us further afield (and ocean) to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brilliant. I'm so glad you've found some of 'your people' and people with good voices at that :-)
ReplyDeleteJust the start of great things to come!!
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear this!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a boy, I sang in the church choir and I loved it. I miss that. I bet being in the choir brings you a lot of joy.
ReplyDeleteThat South African National Anthem is a wonderful, soul-lifting piece of music. I used to follow the Cornish Loveny MV Choir who sang an Africal trilogy. I'm word perfect if you need an alto voice . . .
