There is a singer on at The Crown tonight, Boffin Cameron has been promoting them.
And in the Hall there is a wine tasting evening .
A friend invited me to the theatre
And The Wife is showing locally
But I just can't be arsed going out
It's cold outside and the log burner is roaring
And I think there's a small bar of chocolate in the back of the fridge.
Nothing nicer than a real fire, some chocolate and a devoted dog (or three)
ReplyDelete( or four)
DeleteI knew I'd missed one ...
DeleteThere are times the comforts of home beat all the events in the world.
ReplyDeleteHave a hot bath and settle in for the night with a good book and the dogs around you.
Good for the emotional battery recharge.
Get yer self down the pub man!
ReplyDeleteI've got my pjs on
DeleteI expect most would not have batted an eyelid if you had arrived en-pjs among people who know you. Are dogs allowed in The Crown? If so, next time, go?
DeleteSame here. Woodburner is roaring and I have a big bar of toblerone.. Its cold out so we are staying home.
ReplyDeleteA warm fire on a cold night - perfect! I love that picture.
ReplyDeleteA cold night, a fire in the fireplace, some very gud dugs and kitty to cuddle plus a chocolate bar. Hope there is something good on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteWe are having cool nights and we desert people are enjoying the change in our weather.
cheers parsnip and badger
We put the heating on this evening and I made chocolate fudge. Warmth and food. Home comforts.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my world!!It's been a f@@@@@ of a week and I'm foregoing 'Bohemian Rhapsody'for the same simple pleasures as yours. My bar of choc is HUGE!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to recharge your batteries. Going out next time will be more enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteGet yourself off your arse and go and see the singer.
ReplyDeleteNope, the chocolate is open and I have a zombie DVD to watch
DeleteGet your trousers over your pjs and stick yourself by the bar and see what happens.
DeleteI've done that before , I know what happens 🐎
DeleteI live in Canada, if I stayed home every time it was cold...I say put on your warm woolies and get out!!
ReplyDeleteBarb
Sometimes there's just nothing like the comfort of home!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful hearth, there is nothing quite so comforting as a warm fire and a hearth to sit by. It's even better when you have fur babies to share it with. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteThe mantelpiece didn't come with the cottage, I found it at a local shop
DeleteA small bar of chocolate at the back of the fridge? What an oversight!
ReplyDeleteExactly what I was thinking!!
DeleteBe it ever so humble, there's no place like home - especially when the weather outside is cold, the sitting room is full of warmth and devoted friends, and there is chocolate at hand. How sweet it is.
ReplyDeletePeace be with you!
Staying home is nice, especially after Liverpool — which I noticed you never mentioned your traveling companion :-)
ReplyDeleteMy dear sister in law x
DeleteSounds like a perfect evening to me!
ReplyDeleteI ate the chocolate during a zombie movie now watching Bette Davis in now voyager
DeleteOh Lordy be prepared to cry your eyes out .. Now Voyager is a wonderful film but such a tearjerker !!
DeleteSometimes staying home . . . is best.
ReplyDeleteAnd chocolate nearby, that is best too!
The luxury of being home on a cold night is hard to beat.
ReplyDeleteCozy!
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to be home sometimes!
ReplyDeleteAnd there are four dogs and one cat who are hoping you are staying in.
ReplyDeleteMe too weave
DeleteYou had chocolate.....
ReplyDeleteAnd awful prawn crisps
DeleteYou seem to have a very good life! -Kate
ReplyDeleteIt's changed kate
DeleteStaying is good. the dogs will entertain you I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThey are unconscious
DeleteSometimes it's nice to veg out and be lazy... It can do you a lot of good.
ReplyDeletea perfect way to spend a friday night.
ReplyDeleteSweet hubby wanted to take me out for dinner tonight. Instead the cold and rain has us in front of the fireplace drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows. Aaaaahhhhhh, contentment!
ReplyDeleteSmall bar of chocolate in the back of the fridge? Why bother to dress?
ReplyDelete"Home is where I want to be
ReplyDeletePick me up and turn me around
I feel numb, born with a weak heart
I guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground, head in the sky
It's okay, I know nothing's wrong, nothing wrong"
Talking Heads
Xx
DeleteIt's nice to have possibilities for an evening, even if we don't follow up on them. Nothing wrong with staying in (said the homebody)!
ReplyDeleteHappy at home tonight, too! xo
ReplyDeleteNo chocs, but we stayed in too.
ReplyDeleteYou have made such a lovely home for yourself, John. Might as well stay in and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI hate going out on cold, winter nights. I love chocolate. No contest.
ReplyDeleteI write all the local events going on each weekend in my diary "just in case", but last night a bottle of wine and a free empanada from an Iraqi shopkeeper I chat to while waiting for my bus convinced me to stay home!
ReplyDeleteStaying home nice and warm and cosy on a chilly evening is the best. My only concern is that ypu keep chocolate in the fridge! No, it's just wrong, but I hope you enjoyed it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI stay in over going out most of the time !
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely go and see The Wife. A brilliant film. Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce are riveting.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect except for the size of the chocolate bar. Heather
ReplyDeleteI was going to encourage you to take advantage of all those wonderful social opportunities but, well, chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI now work at the Crown John!! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Cameron !
DeleteCozy, warm with friends snoring... and perhaps a chocky to indulge - what's not to love :)
