There is a singer on at The Crown tonight, Boffin Cameron has been promoting them.
And in the Hall there is a wine tasting evening .
A friend invited me to the theatre
And The Wife is showing locally
But I just can't be arsed going out
It's cold outside and the log burner is roaring
And I think there's a small bar of chocolate in the back of the fridge.

  1. Nothing nicer than a real fire, some chocolate and a devoted dog (or three)

  2. There are times the comforts of home beat all the events in the world.

Have a hot bath and settle in for the night with a good book and the dogs around you.

Good for the emotional battery recharge.

    1. I expect most would not have batted an eyelid if you had arrived en-pjs among people who know you. Are dogs allowed in The Crown? If so, next time, go?

  13. You have a beautiful hearth, there is nothing quite so comforting as a warm fire and a hearth to sit by. It's even better when you have fur babies to share it with. Enjoy your evening.

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home - especially when the weather outside is cold, the sitting room is full of warmth and devoted friends, and there is chocolate at hand. How sweet it is.

    Peace be with you!

Staying home is nice, especially after Liverpool — which I noticed you never mentioned your traveling companion :-)

Pick me up and turn me around
I feel numb, born with a weak heart
I guess I must be having fun
The less we say about it the better
Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground, head in the sky
It's okay, I know nothing's wrong, nothing wrong"

  35. I write all the local events going on each weekend in my diary "just in case", but last night a bottle of wine and a free empanada from an Iraqi shopkeeper I chat to while waiting for my bus convinced me to stay home!
