I'm pissed off with piss today
Yesterday, I caught a somewhat disoriented William weeing all over my duvet and pillows.
He'd obviously had done it before and obviously had a bladder the size of an average water melon. It took an absolute age to had wash everything and make good the smell.
Today I've got an unrelated urine infection
I get them from time to time and the pain, discomfort and inconvienience can lay you low for a few days.
My psoriasis is worse too, so I suspect my reserves are a little low at the moment
I'm off to get some antibiotics and hope I'll be ok for choir practice later.

Oh dear! It sounds as though this might be connected with his recent accident. Maybe his poor head was damaged more than showed up physically? Dogs do get dementia in later life, too. I hope William can be helped and further 'accidents' can be avoided.
ReplyDeleteI hope the antibiotics help, and suspect you are right about your reserves.
ReplyDeleteI hope William comes good too.
Take care!
ReplyDeleteOh dear you poor boys.
ReplyDeleteI can relate. I had bladder infections for years until I found THE doctor. Haven't had the problem for several years now. He was a wonder worker! Drink lots and lots of water. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteOuch, yes it sounds like you are running on empty, and so is William ... now 😉
ReplyDeleteLots of water and nutrient dense foods, I guess at a pinch Scotch Eggs come under that category 😁
Meat and eggs? Hell yea it's nutrient dense. Add avocado and you've hot the lot ☺️
Delete:( xx
ReplyDeleteHugs for you both x
ReplyDeleteNot nice for you or William, poor old boy (him not you lol). Try and take some live yogurt daily if you're on antibiotics, it helps restore the balance in your gut and improve your resistance to nasties. Hope you can make it to choir practice.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself. Bladder infections are truly horrible. Cranberry juice and water (lots and lots of water) will help.
ReplyDeletePoor sweet William. Take care of him and yourself, dear John.
Just once a dog of mine peed on my bed. I have never forgotten the clean up
ReplyDeleteA good sing will do you a power of good
DeleteOh, do take care. I do hope both of you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better quickly, John.
ReplyDeleteI've only had a UTI once, thank goodness. Once was more than enough. I hope you have a quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope the antibiotics help and you feel better soon John!
ReplyDeletePlease try and get to choir tonight and sing your heart out it will do you the power of good.
ReplyDeleteMy weenie Sister started peeing in unexpected places when she first had diabetes. Just FYI. I have always had bladder infections and they are very painful but luckily clear up quickly with antibiotics.
ReplyDeleteI had chronic kidney and bladder infections as a child and still have memories of crawling on the hospital bed to get away from the doctors .. they did a cystoscopy on me .. one kidney was ever so slightly tilted .. I would outgrow it .. I did. I have not had an infection in a long while but try to remember the things to try to avoid it.
ReplyDeleteCranberry juice etc ... but just peeing when you feel it instead of "holding it" are the best things you can do for your bladder and kidneys.
Good luck ... so sorry , hope you feel better fast.
Oh no! Poor William, and poor you! I hope things get better!
ReplyDeleteThis too shall pass, John. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteTake extra special care of yourself. (and William too)
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and William both WELL. Take care of each other (and perhaps keep the bedroom door closed with William on the outside?).
ReplyDeleteI've been a nurse for 46 years. :)
I, too, hope you feel good enough to go to choir.
May you and William heal soon in all needful ways, you know how to best help that happen, so I only send you caring best wishes,Mary
ReplyDeleteMaybe get a metabolic panel done also.
ReplyDeleteHopefully a short term thing for William. I had an aged kitty who just could not help it. I got a waterproof bottom sheet in my save the mattress panic. Then realized I would still have to wash all the bedding, ugh. So I got a second waterproof sheet, put it on top of the blanket with a sheet on top to hold it in place and it worked like a charm. The things we do for our friends (sigh). Pat
ReplyDeleteUTI's are terrible, I hope yours resolves quickly. And, yes, stress and anxiety are probably contributing to the psoriasis flare up. Take a little meditation break and sit in the garden. xoxox
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon. I know how miserable a UTI can be. You might want to check out D-Mannose. I find it very effective in preventing them. If I feel like one is starting, I will take it for a few days and it goes away.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, William's episode was just an accident.
Hope you feel better soon x
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, both of you. Hugs to you both. xx
ReplyDeleteShould you maybe check William hasn't got an infection? Disorientated and peeing on the bed suggest he might. Poor pup, poor you. You will indeed be poor going the vet again if you need to!! Get well soon both of you.
ReplyDeleteTemperature normal , I've dipsticked his urine which was normal too
DeletePoor doggies, even the very good ones and the very smart ones have times when their bodies just don't behave for them. And yes, having to wash all the bedding can be such a chore. There's only one dog in my house. I feel for you, especially with the old ones. But it's what we do, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain :(
ReplyDeleteIt was a UTI that caused me to faint and consequently break all three major bones in my ankle, two years ago, I had just returned from England, my brother said I ate too many meat pies !
Feel better soon the pair of you.
Hugs,
~Jo

ReplyDeleteThe mind/body connection is strong - and sometimes it seems there is not much we can do about it. I hope the antibiotics get you back to health. Poor William and I sympathize with all the bedding washing.
ReplyDeleteinsert comma after "William", please; it changes the meaning significantly :)
DeleteCranberry juice for your UTI, although you probably know that already and don't use perfumed soap or shower gel when you're washing your privates! I really do recommend the Exorex for your psoarisis, especially to relieve the itch. This, of course, is all stress related, which you probably know already too. Be well.xx
ReplyDeleteThis all would really piss me off (does that even mean anything to someone not American).
ReplyDeleteFeel better so that you can sing your heart out.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope both of you will feel better soon hang in there John, this to will pass.
ReplyDeleteHope you get over your infection soon. Was knocked for a loop with one the first of the year unlike anything I'd had before -- seemed to be some referrals, too, and took a while to shake all.
ReplyDeleteMeant to add, years ago our dear cat uncharacteristically peed all over pillows in my spare bedroom. Discovered later he had a UTI.
