It looks fantastic, what wonderful entries. Thanks for sharing John. Gladys looks lovely and the judges table was lucky to have her looking after them.
I live in Clearwater, Florida and we don't have these lovely Flower Shows! Love the pictures of the veggies, the flowers and especially the dessert table!! Yum. It was also wonderful that Auntie Glad was able to make it to the show. I'm jealous of your village!!
I didn't realise the show was today. So happy that Auntie Gladys was able to attend. Judging by all the entries it looks like the day was a great success :)
Doesn't look like there was a single bad entry in any category -- it all looks fab! Nice to see Auntie Glad was there in all her glory. And yay! Joyce of Octoberfarm blog won 1st prize in the creative veggie photos competition! Happy for her!
Everything looks so wonderful John... all that hard work surely paid off! So nice to see Auntie Glad working the tables... She looks chipper and spry. Now..... how did your chocolate cake recipe do??? I sent you the Black Magick one....... So nice of you to share all this with us ...like so many i have no access to things like this... Did you ever tell us how you got involved in the Flower Show?? Hugs! deb
I won first with my chocolate cake! I first got involved with the flower show ten years ago. Gladys was the first person i met in the village, she was a chipper 87 then......and was selling raffle tickets door to door.
A lot of hard work went into this show, and creating the entries. I love that you share with us and cool photo of Aunty Glad in your other post, about the speech.
It was a wonderful show. Lovely to see you and the Prof there.
We were chatting to a lovely couple from the village for most of the afternoon, Bob and Joyce. It's a small world but LH is in a similar profession as Bob used to be in, so they loved chatting to each other about things they couldn't chat to others about.
This is lovely John, you really have been getting deep in to this event and what a lovely sight this is!!! I have never seen anything like this in Sweden, so what is so very special about Wales?? Everything, I gather. Even the dogs are special......
I have never seen so many beautiful horticultural displays in one place. Thank you to all the participates and all the people who worked so diligently to make this an international success and pure pleasure to view.
We, in Blogland, all look forward to seeing the results of the Flower show as much as the residents. You, John, have brought Trelawnyd into all our hearts.
So pleased I called in to the show, so many wonderful entries in all classes, my,... the size of those onions! You could feel the sense of pride of the ones competing.. lol...nice to meet you and Auntie Glad, felt I already knew her.....What struck me most was the fact that everyone in the village had dressed up to go, some very pretty dresses and necklaces and the men looked smart. So different to my town! Christine
A big THANK YOU for sharing the Flower Show with us, John - and for all your hard work in making it such a success. Auntie Gladys always looks so smart - and I notice she changed her outfit between arranging the judges' table and making her speech. What a lovely, lovely woman she is. Fantastic photo of you and Auntie Gladys too. xx
Great seeing all the photo's of the show, it looked amazing. Glad vomiting Melon won first prize, loved that one! Talking of Glad, so lovely to see that she was there to enjoy the show, and many more I hope.
Not sure, after seeing the photo of the vomiting melon, whether I shall ever be able to eat melon again. Isn't it lovely to see so many entries, so many people there - and all those lovely ladies in their summer frocks. So pleased that Aunt Gladys made it.
A highlight of the year is seeing these pictures from the show. I can't explain the feeling it gives me hearing about this event in your village, but thank you. It brings me great joy.
It all looks so wonderful, theres something sort of comforting to know in an often scary and fast changing world people are still busy, growing and making things in time honored tradition and coming together as a community to share it all, thanks for sharing with us. X
