I swear- I almost have a mind to print that picture out and put it up somewhere where I can look at it every day to remind me of so many of the things about this world that I DO love. I'm glad you posted it.
I love how you are looking at her in that photo. I'm so glad she made a little speech herself. When will you be able to put your feet up and relax? -Jenn
Well, as much as I enjoyed seeing all the photographs from the previous post, this picture truly deserves the first prize.
I can appreciate all the efforts of many that made the day a success. But...you are the one who has allowed us to feel just a bit connected to this event. Thank you so much. Take a bow, oh go ahead and take another bow.
In a world where too often we only hear about the horrendous hurt people endure or perpetrate, this reminds us what life should really be about. Thanks John and Gladys.
I like the loving looks everyone has on their faces while Auntie Gladys speaks. The Flower Show is a tremendous amount of work for you, but It is always fun to read about it and see your photos.
John What a lovely picture of the two of you, a treasure for you. Also, you didn't tell me that sandwiches were only a pound! I'll be there next year, health willing.
That photo has such a 'feel good' quality about it, that I would also have it printed out and hung on the wall, for those times when people are getting me down. Vx
Goodness, Auntie Glad has better dress sense than I do (though that's not hard). Lovely photo of you both, and like the others said, well done for all your hard work. Anna
Lovely Aunt Glad... so pleased she managed a few words herself... and thank John for the work you do.. there should be many more people in this world like you. I love the way the villagers have a sparkle in their eye listening to Aunt Glad. Village life ... it's the best... and very rare these days.
It's been a lovely joy following the lead-up to the flower show these past weeks, and how very nice to know it like came off so splendidly. Such a great deal of work, but to such a good end!
Were this indeed a Barbara Pym novel, all attention would now shift to early planning for the Harvest Festival, or perhaps a fall jumble sale. What's the actual next village landmark?
I hope you recorded your speech and hers. In years to come, it would be wonderful to name the flower show in her honor so no one would ever forget this wonderful, beautiful lady. Folks like her are one in a million these days, except for you of course!
A memory to cherish John Gray x
