    2. You should see the view of Rosebeerry Topping. It is a short walk from my house but don't tell the world. We prefer that everyone thinks Middlesbrough is grotty (google Middlesbrough).

      Amazing!
(Roseberry Topping is a distinctive hill in northern Yorkshire, England. It is situated near Great Ayton and Newton under Roseberry. Wikipedia)

For whatever reason (my age?) I no longer ever forget how beautiful the place where I live is. That is one very good thing.

  8. Hazy in the distance I think that I can see the sea in that picture. Is that true? Can you see the sea from Trelawnyd?

  9. Hell of a picture, John. The kids look my grandaughter. Any idea how old that stone fence is? Approximately?

  13. And Petersons Champagne house and Lakes Folly. Great Reds. The upper hunter is better not as commercial and great wines.

  14. I always think of you living in a beautiful, peaceful place. It is nice to see a picture of the lovely countryside.

I love where I live also. There is no place like home!

  16. One of these days I'll look at those hills... from the bottom. No way I'm climbing one!

  17. The part of Wales where I used to live was stunning too. Where I live now is even better!

  18. You might forget just how beautiful your home is - but we remember and marvel at it with every post.

  19. I am often guilty of this John. I get so carried away with the wonderful places I go to overseas that are so GREEN and full of history that I forget to look around me at the lovely modern city where I live ...and our beaches? Well you'll get a bit of a taste for what we have here soon enough !

  21. Our bit of Wales is stunning too and I try never to take it for granted. What a lovely view those sweet girls have from the hill.

  22. We live opposite the most glorious view, and I realise every day when I open or close the curtain on it, and when I walk the dogs round our paddock.

I always take the time to 'stand and stare'.

  23. Agree John. When we drive out into our Yorkshire Dales I always marvel that we live in such a beautiful place.

  24. I have a friend who was brought up in the Lake District, and he found it drab and boring when he was a kid. Once he had escaped to the bright lights, he could appreciate it for what it was.

  25. How true John. I was driving back up from our local town recently with 4 neighbours in the car. When I passed "the bridge" I turned left to go up to our village when one of the ladies commented that she always went right after the bridge "because it was quicker". So I said "yes but this way we get to see the whole village with the mountains behind it and it is beautiful". She was stunned and they then got on to the subject of how we never take time to stop and smell the roses. Time for us all to slow down a little I think. Anna

  30. I live in a little farming valley. You drive through miles of dry grassland, then all of a sudden the road splits a hill and the view of the valley, with its meandering creek and elegant old oak trees forms a panorama. The Sierra Nevada mountains are in the background, and as you come down into the valley there are fertile farm fields on both sides of the road. It only lasts for 2 miles, then you're back up on another dusty, dry plain. I was born here. It's where I belong.

  31. Can't get enough of our beautiful coastline but the brainless local council have now imposed a 'Pay and Display' machine at all of our beach locations throughout the county so trips to the beach will now be firmly curtailed at 2 quid a pop! Lovely sisterly pic of those pretty girls. I'm not even going to venture to read your other post because I was just eating my tea when the title came up on my FB feed. It rather gave me the dry boke. x
