Part of an email I received today from the Prof
"We are at Hamilton Island marina for the night. Having the most wonderful time, and seeing some amazing things.... Whales, turtles, coral, wonderful fish..... I have managed to snorkel"
It's bank holiday here in the UK
and I went to Sainsbury's and bought a £ 1.50 pair of flip flops.....

Rub it in why don't you Chris! At least you went out John - the incessant rain has kept me in all day!
ReplyDeleteBank Holiday Monday here in Cornwall - and I've been sitting in the garden reading, along with a couple of hours of gardening. My beach days will return once the crowds have returned to their homes up-country. Good for the Prof, having a go at all those things.
ReplyDeleteNew flippy floppy's mean your vacation is getting ever closer! X
ReplyDeleteOh the injustice of it all!! lol
ReplyDeleteHow many days since your last Scotch egg John? I think you deserve another for hanging in there.
ReplyDeleteStill, it won't be long until you're winging your way to Oz!
Don't get confused when they call them thongs in Australia, it could be embarrassing :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I was coming with you. x
ReplyDelete(Play theme from 'Jaws'.... DA DA, DA DA, DA DA, DA DA,....)
ReplyDeleteDAMN!
ReplyDelete(not a holiday over here; we get one next monday)
Oh the excitement - Sainsburys and flip flops all in one day. The Prof doesn't know what he is missing. A
ReplyDeleteThey sound like a bargain John !
ReplyDeleteWhales. Be still my jealous heart. I hope he takes you whale watching when you arrive in Oz.
ReplyDeleteJust been lookingat the whale watching boat trips
ReplyDeleteDo it if you get the chance. Or even half a chance.
DeleteHave you got a Speedo to wear with those flip flops John?
ReplyDeleteHow about a pic of you modeling your OZ wardrobe.
No budgi smugglers for me
DeleteYou don't get sea sick do you John? Whale excursions are a must do
ReplyDeleteI do get sick doc.. But I do want to go!
DeleteThere's a med for that - GO!
DeleteIf you don't want to take meds, ginger tea or ginger sweeties have been a life saver for me; give them a go. Saw grey whales migrating along the California coast when out boating with friends several years ago - just the memory sends chills up my spine and brings tears to my eyes.
DeletePity you are not going to Queensland , perfect one day , beautiful the next day .....
ReplyDeleteWhat a lie....it snowed up there a few weeks ago.

ReplyDeleteOnly a couple of days to go and you and those flip flops will be having even more fun.
You big spender, you.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Give the budgie smugglers a miss John. Go for the boardies and rashie.
ReplyDeleteSucks to be you. (Bumper sticker.)
ReplyDeleteThanks susie
DeleteHow exciting for you!! Not long now... and you can wear your bargains!!
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland, NZ
Remember to not wear socks with them,
ReplyDeleteSounds like he and you are having fun. Soon to be together.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed evening.
Do go for the whale watching but get some meds. When the boat stops the waves will get to you, not sure you want to be green.
ReplyDeleteSnorkeling is great fun, hope you try it.
So soon you will be having fun together ! Vacations are lovely.
cheers, parsnip

You are a wild and crazy guy :)
ReplyDeleteMy friend in NZ rang the other night to let me know they were 'just popping over to OZ for a jazz festival'! It's a wonder you couldn't hear the giant raspberry I blew down the phone to her down there in Wales!! G'night Mate. x
