It's going to be a mundane post today
It's going to be a mundane day
For today it's carpet cleaning day
Yaaaayyyyyy
It's a necessary evil of living in the country and having 20 paws in the house
When the carpet cleaner comes out
the animals retreat to their favorite places
They know what to expect
Noise and muddy water
All day
Albert hides away on his superman onesie cat bed |
William is up on the couch |
George is in bed |
Meg is in the bedroom window |
And Winnie watches the wold from the garden |
Nice to see Albert making use of the onesie. Isn't that a lovely view from your bedroom window?
ReplyDeleteIt's the reason we bought the cottage simone
DeleteAhh they all know when it is time to get out of Dodge ! xx
ReplyDeleteDogs hate carpet cleaners
DeleteHah! No rugs here, just easily swept wooden floors!
ReplyDeleteI wondered about flags
DeleteBut stone cottages in Wales are bloody freezing
Wooden floors, tiles and rugs here downstairs, and I've now stopped the dogs coming upstairs until the mud goes away .... if only it was as easy to stop the cat :-/
ReplyDeleteI take a big deep breat and just open the doors
DeleteWinnie's body language shows what she thinks of this activity!
ReplyDeleteIt's carpets in the bedrooms and tiles and lino everywhere else in our house. Mainly because we (us and the dog and cat) are always dragging mud and fym from the farmyard and vegetable plot. We could also do with making some paved paths on the veg plot. There's no chance of me doing any digging at the moment. Sun shine for a change today.
ReplyDeleteSun shining here too!
DeleteI opened the windows for the first time this year!
no more diaper for winnie! yeah, my cats have always run upstairs whenever I drag out the vacuum cleaner.
ReplyDeleteThe y fronts were removed a couple of days ago!
DeleteShe still is gagging for a shag though
Only one room with carpet here and that needs to go....but it always feels good to clean them and I always then have to clean everything else!
ReplyDeleteI need to clean the carpets here. One thing I put off and off and off.
ReplyDeletewinnie has the cutest butt ever!
ReplyDeleteSicko! X
DeleteYou would think in times of stress (carpet cleaning) they would all huddle together for comfort.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's not such a mundane Monday for the pets...rather exciting. Albert's face says it all.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever want to re-home William, I'll take him!
ReplyDeleteHi Cro….I will fight you for him…..I love his photo best too!
DeleteI have always meant to ask you how you keep the house clean with so many animals - now I know!
ReplyDeleteBleeding hard work it is too!
DeleteI spent Friday morning, my day off of my big girl job, cleaning carpet and rugs at my house. Are we ready for Spring? I know I am here in Wisconsin so doing the Spring Cleaning now hopefully will make Mother Nature take notice. ;) Hope your house is all sparkly and no more bleached bum accidents. ;)
ReplyDeleteAfter four solid hours it looks ( and smells) so much better
DeleteI need a large gin and tonic ( without the tonic)
Does the carpet cleaning set the cat off once it's finished? I seem to remember our cat used to go mad once they'd smelt the cleaning stuff...
ReplyDeleteAnd obviously when Winnie comes in she will bring in the first fresh muddy footprints for the clean carpet!
ReplyDeleteAnd no doubt they're all dying to frolic on the newly-cleaned carpets and make them all reassuringly filthy again!
ReplyDeleteNod rubbing the odd Itchy arsehole on the shagpile
DeleteTarpaulins on the floor here, which can't be washed so save me a job! Do have tiles in the Half Barn. Bought a steam cleaner to cope with the cleaning of them. Carpets? No chance! Too much mud around!
ReplyDeleteI envy your tarpaulins Vera x
Deletelove how William sits like a human. But I think George has the right idea, warm in the bed. What is winnie doing? The Plank exercises?
ReplyDeleteWilliam has always sat up like a little man...it's a trait in welsh terrier dogs.....Winnie adores standing in the garden just " looking" ..that's all she does " just looking"
DeleteI love Albert.
ReplyDeleteAnd Winifred has confirmed all I know about her breed: The backside as revolting as their face. A horse's behind most elegant.

John,
ReplyDeleteHow on earth do your animals stay in one place while this work is going on. My dog absolutely hates a vacuum or a rug cleaner. He jumps off the coach and runs the opposite direction until he can get behind the machine and stare at it.
OMG the walking dead! wow that katana sword got a work out didn't it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteA bit slow.... But michonne looking and acting human made up for it
DeleteThey know their place when it comes to carpet-cleaning ;)
ReplyDeleteWinnie reminds me of Clarissa Dickson Wright, of two fat ladies fame...from the back of course...lol
~Jo
We were out of school today, and I did the very same thing. Exciting times.....
ReplyDeleteWet and cold all day here.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, John!
I just put my hand on the door knob to the storage closet and all paws disappear
ReplyDeleteAnother fine shot of Winnie from the rear. There must be a calendar opportunity for her in this
