Belated Birthday Greeting Rebecca

Now anyone may think that it is mandatory for all gay men to like Kylie Minogue, but I, for one can take or leave her " na, na, na....na,na, na,na, naaaaaaa" type of disco diva music. Having said this, last night during a family meal, the siblings and their significant others and I had a rather lively debate on the merits of tv's The Voice .
Now for those that don't know , The Voice is one of those manipulating tv talent shows where a panel of judges listen to a singer ( without seeing them! Oh boy what a twist!!) then vote to whether they want to keep them in their gang in order to do battle to be the best act.
Ricky Wilson another sweetie!
The judges in this show are Tom Jones, the Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson , Will  I am, and of course Kylie Minogue, and the gist of the conversation centred around just how warm and sweet the diminutive Kylie comes across in the show
Some people do have this enviable ability to convey warmth and friendliness  effortlessly and naturally. It's not cloying, or saccharine but genuinely attractive, and Kylie has the skill in buckets!

My niece in law Rebecca  has the same enviable trait, and it is with an embarrassed smile , that I wish her a belated happy birthday for Friday.
I apologise that I forgot your card!
Rebecca  with baby Evie
We hope you had a lovely weekend x

  3. Kylie gets right up my nasal passages and makes me feel rather Grrr. Ricky Wilson is lovely but not enough to make me watch yet another 'talent' programme

  5. Happy Birthday Rebecca :)

Since I no longer watch TV (5th year) I'll let "The Voice" remain a mystery!

  7. I don't even know her, but I would like to wish her a happy birthday too. A few straight men also like Kylie as well, so I am told.

  8. Speaking as one crusty old fogey who worships at the shrine of the divine Kylie, must admit I've never seen one complete show of 'The Voice', only stumbling across it by accident when flicking channels. It's naffness soon turns me off. It's not just the goddess herself who cannot hold me there but (sorry, I'm gonna say it) even the compelling sexiness of Will.i.am is not sufficient to hold me watching. (Pity about his fashion choices, but, God, what a good-looking chap, and with such incredible skin colour!)
But in my books, for female allure there's just nothing and no one to touch our supremely lovely Kylie.

  10. Beautiful picture of mother and baby. The Voice is a good natured and passable way to spend a Saturday evening at home. Love Will.i.am ever since his appearance on the Graham Norton Show with Miriam Margolyes. Thought it would be a car crash but it was so funny and charming. Also watched vintage film La Grande Vadrouille last night which was brilliant. Up there with Monsieur Hulot. Happy Birthday Rebecca, Jan from Suffolk.

  12. Beautiful Mummy and Beautiful Baby. I think Kylie's brush with death a while back endeared her even more than ever to everyone alike and I'm so glad she looks more like her 'old' self again. She comes across as completely genuine and I tend to think that she is. Bless her. I think Ricky fancies her - I loved the way he got up to dance with her last night.

  14. What a lovely photo of Rebecca and Evie. Happy birthday.....

On the subject of The Voice, I found myself horribly drawn into it on Saturday for the first time. Thanks for telling me who Ricky was - god I'm old. Like that bloke she sat down with, all I can think of when I see her is Charlene from Neighbours.

Kylie is one of our better exports to the world.

  16. For me, Kylie isn't doing herself any favours on ' The Voice ' ….. not coming across very well in my humble opinion . BUT …. Will.i.am is brilliant…. I'd choose him every time to be my mentor !!… Ricky's not bad either !!!!
….. but, had a much better evening on Friday, watching Miriam Margoyles on Graham Norton. Did you see her John ?
…..and, finally but, more importantly, happy, happy birthday to Rebecca …. what a beautiful looking lady and such a gorgeous baby…. very good genes going on there !! XXXX

    1. Just caught your comment
As I am am off to work overtime from 22.00 until 6 am
Miriam is a delight as always... But it's clear she is just invited to spout out the same hilarious stories.... She has told the crossroads one several times now in many countries

    2. I know but, still adore her. I could listen to them over and over again. She certainly put Lily Allen in her place ….. Dominic Cooper's story was pretty funny too…. don't you just love the way MM says ' cock ' ?!!! XXXX

  17. I don't know who Kylie is. Rebecca is beautiful. I have a cousin named Rebecca. When we were teenagers she ran away and joined a commune. She had a baby there. Eventually, she left without the baby. I think that's weird and sad. I don't know where my cousins are now, but I hope they haven't had children who leave their babies at communes.

    Love,
    Janie

What gay men like or don't like is a bloody mystery to me. Particularly when it comes to women.

My longest standing (and male) friend so hetero no steel is needed is brutal on the subject. Which is why, on the whole, I avoid bringing it up.

  20. My bf likes Kylie! I think it's her tiny, pert arse in those gold hot pants, the bitch!

  21. Kylie is alright, I suppose. Never heard of any of the others, I must admit.
Rebecca and Evie make a wonderful picture together! (And that's from me, the Woman Who Does Not Like Babies.)

  22. Funnily enough I don't have that enviable quality, more the 'alienate and make most people think I am unfriendly' quality. Does that count for anything?
I can take or leave Kylie, but programmes like The Voice and all the other talent show crap should be put on a bonfire and set alight to (maybe this is why people are unsure of me)

  23. Ricky Wilson - oooooooooooo young man indeed! Kylie Minogue - as Bill Bryson said "Jiggle yer little titties" type of singer. xxx
