I did overtime last night and will be working again tonight, so today's post is a brief one before I drag my sorry carcass to my pit for a daytime sleep. I hate doing " runs" of shifts. I never sleep well, and end up going to work with my eyeballs looking like two fried eggs in a bucket of blood.
Before I took the dogs out for a walk , I watched Winifred gently licking the top of Albert's head. It was a small moment of contact between dog and cat which was obviously pleasurable for both parties. It lasted several minutes
Now, as zebidee once said
" off to bed"
I hope you sleep better on this occasion and catch up with your sleep deficit!
ReplyDeleteShe was just 'getting a taste' of him lol.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't work shifts I am hopeless if I don't get a good nights sleep. Hope you get a good rest.
ReplyDeleteawwwwwwwwwww, puppy love!
ReplyDeleteI love Winifred more & more x
ReplyDeleteSleep well! Maybe it is easier if Winifred licks the top of your head instead of Albert's.
ReplyDeleteWinnie is such a big sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOur little mother earth! She is such a good girl. Sleep tight...
ReplyDeleteTruly lovely

Rest well
ReplyDeleteaaahh...how lovely
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet. Our dog won't let the cats near him. He's afraid of them. haha!
ReplyDeleteShe's found the way to Albert's heart...clever girl.

Hope you are asleep/sleeping as I am thinking of you (1403 GMT).

I watched our cat trying to rub on our dog this morning, but the dog just acts confused and tries to avoid contact. It's all very adorable, and I have to admire the cat's patient persistence.
ReplyDeleteI have to add, after MIss Chef's big underground dinner last night, your description of eyeballs suits me to a T today. I hope yours are a bit better than that when you arise.
Clearly Winnie has accepted Albert as her leader. :) I love animals, they are so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNighty night.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before and I'll say it again "that Winifred has really landed on her feet." Night, night, sleep tight.
ReplyDeleteSleep tight mate, as you need to be as fresh as a daisy in your job. Try using ear muffs and those things over your eyes and you might sleep as a baby - (not the ones crying all night though).
ReplyDeleteAwwww!
ReplyDeleteSometimes our one cat Charlemagne will groom our dog, but I never have a camera handy to memorialize it.
Pleasant dreams John.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! Winnie know who's boss!
ReplyDeleteI never know when dog licks cat or cat licks dog if they're being very loving or simply having a taste of what might be .... and if the session goes on for a while it starts to look like they are tenderising each other ready for a snack :-)
ReplyDeleteBon nuit or is bon jour? Have you had the lovely Winifred long?
ReplyDeleteOnly since the autumn jan
DeleteShe has been rehomed after having her last litter of puppies
Had a feeling she has 'history'. I have an ex puppy farm breeding dog. Till is much less damaged than my previous rescue girl and having two normal dogs gives her clues how to deal with real dog life. I despair of some humans when I see the damage they do. Hope you slept well? Oh, and is she an English Bulldog or something foreign and fancy? Or English and fancy! Apologise if I've missed you referring to her breed.
DeleteEither she is being very loving or just testing to see if he is ripe enough to eat .
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Winnie is wiggling her way into my heart. all your dogs make me want fur babies. (Then I read about poop and the feeling evaporates! lol)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have been sitting on the couch and the dogs will lazily yawn and curl up beside each other to nap and it's so damn relaxing watching them that the next thing I know I, too, am curling up for an afternoon nap. I hope Winnie did that for you today!
ReplyDeleteShift work can suck sometimes - I don`t miss the night shifts.
This is so sweet. Our older cat still misses her Rottweiler sister. The cat would spend hours grooming the Rotty and sometimes get a quick lick in return. She tries to groom our nervous little rescue dog but he can't take that much loving at once and has to run and hide. Sigh.

John,
ReplyDeleteHow sweet, hopefully when you wake up there's no damaged animal.
♥ Have a good night, John. Hope you slept well.
ReplyDeleteThat is so nice. Winnie seems to have such a kind nature. Especially considering the beating Albert put on her recently :)

Small moments like this makes one feel like all is well.
ReplyDeleteSo heartwarming to see the dog and cat like that. Sorry your sleep didn't turn out as you had hoped.
