Not only after the sheep ate well, it looks like the chickens will too. Best be not getting you to swearing again or it will be shorn sheep in the pot ! Haha ! x
I used to collect the "scraps" from our local food cooperative.... isn't it great when the girls gets a little change from their diet? Your friends are kind... I like them already.
Excellent neighbors! When school is in session we get some of the food scraps for our girls and one of our neighbors just tosses her scraps over the chicken fence once or twice a week...we'll have been somewhere and come home to find a bunch of corn cobs in the pen. Nice surprises!
Wot no fishes? Jesus!

Ours very rarely get stale bread; we eat it all. However, yesterday they did get last month's ground-up egg shells. Lucky gals.
ReplyDeleteWe sometimes raid the co-op bins where there was once bags & bags of defrosted peas - my friend made pea puree
ReplyDeleteHope the bread goes down well x
"Out Of Runcorn" make the best date loaves I have ever eaten. Your girls will be well-nourished.
ReplyDeleteIn London, the council would prosecute for dumping....
ReplyDeleteThat's the plus side of keeping hens (that and the eggs) - nothing goes to waste.
ReplyDeleteWaste not, want not. Good!
ReplyDeleteThat's great, John! I hope they do stop by once in a while.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
One person's stale bread is another chicken's feast!
ReplyDeleteIt was probably the woman who flattened your hen some weeks ago - she finally felt remorse.
ReplyDeleteNancy in Iowa
Or, could it be the ladies who gave you their chickens and henhouse after they had that scare with the fox?
ReplyDeleteIn any case, it was a lovely gesture.
