Gawd Bless her

Going Gently needed a bit of colour today
it's been far too drab here recently
And so spurred on by local royalist and show gal Jason from Ty Wynne and his multicultural bunting and flag waving
Bwthyn-y-llan has followed suit
with our own  bit of red, white and blue
oh and for balance
The Welsh flag has been erected on the side of the cottage

Looks beautiful. It's a grand old flag. I was always sorry when Canada gave up the Union Jack for the Maple Leaf. I can still remember drawing and colouring the Union Jack in grade school. That was probably in honour of Queen Victoria's birthday. We would stick them up all over the school windows. Great job.

  5. Couldn't find any British flags here, so I'm using the Canadian flag... QEII is the Queen of Canada too.

  10. I made a red white and blue tabelcoth then my neighbour said "hang it on the door", which I'm sure is some kind of euphemism...

  14. Though I fly another flag these years, there is a large part of my heart and soul still longing for England and the green fields I ran in as a child. Rule Britannia!

  17. Let's hope the Sons of Glendower don't see your union jacks! I believe they're having a street party on our Sheffield road this weekend with both ends officially closed off by the local constabulary. In Blogland I shall be wearing my knotted handkerchief, string vest and braces and there'll be little union jacks in my cocktails.

  22. Nicely done. The cottage is the perfect backdrop. Is the exterior granite? Our house is of granite and I never grow tired of it.

Wish I were there to kick up my heels.
