Going Gently needed a bit of colour today
it's been far too drab here recently
And so spurred on by local royalist and show gal Jason from Ty Wynne and his multicultural bunting and flag waving
Bwthyn-y-llan has followed suit
with our own bit of red, white and blue
oh and for balance
The Welsh flag has been erected on the side of the cottage
Rule Britannia!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful. It's a grand old flag. I was always sorry when Canada gave up the Union Jack for the Maple Leaf. I can still remember drawing and colouring the Union Jack in grade school. That was probably in honour of Queen Victoria's birthday. We would stick them up all over the school windows. Great job.
ReplyDeleteseize the moment--my English genes are ready to celebrate
ReplyDeletesend on the Jubilee and the Olympics!
60 Glorious Years. My bunting goes up tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! You put me to shame.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't find any British flags here, so I'm using the Canadian flag... QEII is the Queen of Canada too.
ReplyDeleteJane x
looks like an Englishman's holiday cottage!! (runs out of room avoiding flying objects)
ReplyDeleteYes they've just put the bunting up outside my place of work... Bunting?! I ask you! In Bloomsbury of all places... the "set" will probably be pontificating from beyond the grave :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks quite festive!
ReplyDeletemagnificent!
ReplyDeleteI made a red white and blue tabelcoth then my neighbour said "hang it on the door", which I'm sure is some kind of euphemism...
ReplyDeleteI'm welsh, He's Irish, we married in Scotland and live in England, so we're having the lot LOL
Love it!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling for you; it looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pub patio. Sa-weet.
ReplyDeleteI hope those flags were made in Britain and not in China!
ReplyDeleteThough I fly another flag these years, there is a large part of my heart and soul still longing for England and the green fields I ran in as a child. Rule Britannia!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Enjoy the Diamond Jubilee and also the Olympics.
ReplyDeleteEverything seems better with a little color.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the Sons of Glendower don't see your union jacks! I believe they're having a street party on our Sheffield road this weekend with both ends officially closed off by the local constabulary. In Blogland I shall be wearing my knotted handkerchief, string vest and braces and there'll be little union jacks in my cocktails.
ReplyDeletejohn suffers from Jubilee envy and so he felt the need to copy my own efforts.....and i am not a royalist !.....though to be fair i dont think the republican movement will be welcoming me any day soon...
ReplyDeleteMy little Cornish village is awash with flags and bunting with enormous bon homi at very corner. Great party feel here oh and St Piran flag for Cornwall to add to the mix.
ReplyDeleteLong live the old queen (and Elizabeth).
ReplyDeleteJason
ReplyDeleteI have been in your delightful house and have seen your collection of Royal novelty mugs
Nicely done. The cottage is the perfect backdrop. Is the exterior granite? Our house is of granite and I never grow tired of it.
ReplyDeleteWish I were there to kick up my heels.
no John, you saw my over sized wasps nest and my collection of Billy Bragg albums....not to mention the small wooden guillotine which i had constructed in the event of a viva revolucion......shamefully i have dressed the guillotine in bunting for the weekend.....but i shall return to my old ways after the weekend
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be in London for all the celebrations. No-one can "do" royalty like the British.
ReplyDeleteCheers
The lady doth protest too much, methinks
ReplyDeletehummm so many Union Jacks Jason............so many union jacks
It looks grand!
