We are a sad bunch of blogging fu*kers aren't we?
Our On-line diary "ship of fools" was floored presumably by a nasty little virus and there we all were, sitting at our kitchen tables or in our favourite arm chairs, cups of coffee in hand ( or something a little stronger if you're TS)....all mourning our inability to read the exciting thoughts and daily diaries of a valiant little band of bloggers across the globe.
Of course blogging attracts the control freaks of this world.
The attraction of getting your thoughts down on paper ( like my daily and oh so necessary lists) is in fact a simple pastime to control one's environment......we all recognise the need....and we all enjoy the habit........funny we are all creatures of habit are we not?
Right , I must dash........I have to think of a wry story to write...probably about a hen falling over or the something rather unsavory about the menstral cycle of a flatulent bulldog......
got to keep my followers happy eh?
Nice to have everyone back!
I was thinking it was my total inability to navigate the new 'post editor' :)
ReplyDeleteYes, a bunch of sad sacks but at least we're a faithful lot.....

I remember all the prep work we did for the millennium bug was it really 12 years ago ! Where did all the time go .
ReplyDeleteThis post is hysterical and of course so true!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Because I think that everything is my fault, I thought it was something I did. It was actually very reassuring that it was the system and not me.
ReplyDeleteAt least, it made me realize how much I was addicted. I should take some new resolutions...
ReplyDelete...er maybe not! ;)
Who lost some follicles...not me!!!Right!
ReplyDeleteYes John, that was an 'interesting pause'! You got it right when you said we are a lot of control freaks in need of acceptance.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't realised to what extent i looked forward to reading my favourite blogs until i couldn't. I had any number of witticisms to impart, but of course, they all fled now that all's back up and running...

Sorry - was there a problem.
ReplyDeleteGuilty as CHARGED!
ReplyDeleteRuth
I'm not a control freak!
ReplyDeleteBut I can't get into that now, I need to tell Fred it's time to make dinner. Plus, the kids should have been out of their school uniforms minutes ago. What are they waiting for? Seriously, why can't people do what they're suppose to do?
Your Friend, m.
Thank goodness.....I thought it was just me. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteCheers
I just had a momentary panic - clicked on comments and got another of those error messages from Blogger! Deja vu - thought it was yesterday again. I tried again - thank Heavens I can ramble on your blog now! Yesterday I felt like a kid in school, waving my hand, knowing I had something important to contribute, but the teacher wouldn't call on me!
ReplyDeleteHow is Thomas?

ReplyDeletehe's fine...
I have already planned a large new paddock and have advertised already for a new companion!
My problem is, is that I'm such a creature of habit I didn't know what to do with myself when blogger was down--So I did the only thing I could, caught up on facebook--It was hardly a substitute because you're not there John! ;-)) I was worried I may need a 12 step rehab program if blogger didn't come back up!
ReplyDeleteHow's the goat? I've been worried sick.
ReplyDeleteI was about to post an earth-shatteringly important blog... now I've forgotten what it was. Bugger Blogger.

ReplyDeleteI nearly died...
ReplyDeleteI was out for the day...and came home to an earthquake.
ReplyDeleteI know bloggers get indignant about things....but to react to Blogger shutting down by causing an earthquake is something.
Respect.
I'm not kidding myself the people I talk to are instant friends, but what I do like about blogging is talking and listening within a community of like-minded or empathetic people. I feel it's opening me up to the lives and ways of others, more broadly than I experience in my own small world. And I'm amazed by the good-will I encounter.
ReplyDeleteBlogger has been a real pip lately. Not able to so many functions and on top of it, I really have limited time online now that I'm up here. Sheesh. Glad you're back John!
ReplyDeleteAh, you write the best stories. Your the blogger generations answer to "All Creatures Great and Small".
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, John. I had just created my blog after many months of trepidation, when BLAM! Right smack in the face, my only two (near and dear to my heart) posts were gone, along w/my entire blog.
ReplyDeleteIf losing my blog wasn't bad enough, not being able to read everyone's elses blog just about did me in.
Glad to say I have restored my blog (but I am sure not to it's original glory, lol) and am going to give in another go.
Wish me luck!
