Downton Abbey

Now I am not a follower of this "Upstairs Downstairs" drama DOWNTON ABBEY ( the blatant rip off of the flower show storyline from Mrs Miniver was unforgivable) but I have noticed the rather sweet performance from the Yorkshire actress Joanne Froggatt as the spunky maid Anna......

Look out for her, she's a find

  1. Pretty girl!

Morning comes early, John, any reason you are up so late? Mr Fox perhaps?

  2. Nice! Does love find a way?

Some time ago, you wrote about the new Sherlock Holmes. We saw the first episode last week, and I enjoyed it very much. I'm looking forward to the second one tonight. Yah! Something good to watch at last.

  3. 'Mrs Miniver' was an appallingly bad film (I've got most of the WW2 propoganda films on DVD), so the alleged plagiarism would be doubly worse if true. Are you sure that accent is Yorkshire? It sounds a bit south of Lancashire to me. Her Indoors is from Sheffield - are you too? I've visited her sister, who lives next door to the woman that breeds and grooms Bedlington Terriers, and looked after Cragie Aitchison's for him. They now live in Bath, bequeathed (or entrusted) to a couple of friends of his.

  8. I love any Upstairs/Downstairs or just plain old Period Drama - and I am loving this one. I think Joanne Froggat played John Simms mother in Life on Mars. I am a bit in love again with Brendan Coyle.

  9. Well heck John..I wish we could get these programs here in the States or at least here where we live. When I lived in Canada we got some good ones like 'The Darling Buds Of May' ...the one in the department store..can't remember the name but it was a comedy and a few others. I miss them and the one you show today looks like something I would really enjoy. Thanks for sharing with us..I enjoyed that! Have a wonderful evening....Maura :)
