They look cheerful in the kitchen as the autumn evening draws in.
The Great British Bake Off starts tonight
Another signal that winter is almost here.
I’ve lit the fire as Roger is gleefully chasing a daddy long legs around the kitchen .
It’s a habit William used to do with honey bees in the garden and it pleases me to see Roger playing the same games
Weaver is sat under my desk and has already grumbled at Mary as she ambled to the sofa to sleep her old lady sleep.
I’m counselling all day tomorrow so have put beef and vegetables in the slow cooker with stock , chillies and Worcestershire sauce…..beef stew is a great supper on an autumn night.

We in North America will see this year's Bake-Off next year. It takes a year to be broadcast here, I don't know why.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant to come home to beef stew tomorrow. Your cottage will smell divine. Be sure Mary, Roger, Bun and Weaver cannot knock your slow cooker on the floor so they get the stew and you don't. It might be best to have the slow cooker behind a door they cannot open. Just sayin!

DeleteHammond's accent hurts my ears. I cannot bear listening to her so am unable to watch. I have watched the Bake Off since the first viewing. I loved Mel and Sue and Mary but not Prue or Matt. I even watch the Juniors. Is a lovely show with no swearing.

DeleteI love Nigella in Bake Off. It's a refreshing change to have someone younger. She was who I would have chosen. She fits in perfectly. I too remember that zip wire. I can't believe it was that long ago.

DeleteI hate that i have no way to see Bake Off... No way unless i put out some money that is.... and i won't.. I used to catch some clips and even old episodes on YouTube ... but they have gotten pretty good at keeping it off there now...
