Weaver is trying her best to integrate
But like Mary Bennett in social situations,
She just can’t get it!
Rigid with awkwardness she pushed herself to her obvious limit last night and over perhaps 40 minutes crept her way to the centre of the living room from her usual ninth step on the staircase.
It was a painful watch, and I held my breath for much of the ordeal, but she finally did it !
Speaking of painful watches, I sat through The Downfall of Huw Edwards last night
Awful

It's good to see Weaver making the effort! Whodathunk she ever would? -Kate
ReplyDeleteHer ghost remains here x
DeleteDear Weaver, she's living on her own terms! One of my late cats took 3 days to emerge from the dining room and the comparative safety of his cat igloo. Like you, we were all sitting with bated breath, not daring to speak or move. He was always a scaredy cat. If he knew you, he was friendly, otherwise, he'd disappear like lightning! xx
ReplyDeleteAmen
DeleteVery pleased to hear about Weaver’s progress.
ReplyDeletePerhaps we will watch The Downfall of Huw tonight…it will take our minds off the US president.
Nice cushion!
It’s a slow burn
Deletewell done Weaver.
ReplyDeleteHE. A nasty unpleasant little man
It intrigues me she wants to join me on dog walks
DeleteYoungest son's cat does that.
DeleteAlso Keith the Cat in Boxes and Bellows blog. I've met both of them..and walked with them
Brava, Weaver!!! 🐈⬛👏😊
ReplyDeleteProgress beats perfection.
Hope you, Mary, Roger, Bun and Weaver have a good week.
Brava, Weaver! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteAmazing to think that Weaver is trying to be a better and sweeter cat. Perhaps our beloved Weaver of Grass is helping her learn?
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I like to think so
DeleteI miss the old weaver
DeleteSo do I. She didn’t shy away from “difficult” subjects and let people give opposing opinions.
DeleteHer respect and affection for you was evident. You should be proud of that.
I was happy at her affection with me
DeleteMe, too. She was a treasure! Wish all of her blog was still there.
DeleteHugs!
We need more quiet wisdom in this world, don't we? Especially in these days.
DeleteWell done, Weaver. You were very brave. (I loved The Other Bennet Sister. Thank you for reminding me it was there.)
ReplyDeleteI thought of dear Pat earlier today. And about how dismayed she would be with the current world disaster. I am glad that she was spared that. Great that her namesake is making strides toward a more relaxed life!
ReplyDeleteHuw Edwards was indeed awful. I knew that the BBC should never have hired a Welsh news anchor.
ReplyDeleteI have my own theory about Weaver...she is cautious and wary yes, and still has that volatility at the ready, but I do believe (in cat language) that she has come to *understand* that she has finally whipped everyone else into shape.....and now she may begin presenting pieces of herself....now that everyone knows exactly where they stand- in her playbook. Sorry.....long ....but those are my thoughts. She is clever and I would expect no less

I have been thinking about Pat a lot lately, most likely because of the current political climate. I envision her writing that she wishes we could all visit in her home for a good discussion with a glass of sherry.
ReplyDeleteI miss Weaver and her sharing her thoughts and some of her life on her blog. She inspired me to read more poetry as she wrote about it. I loved her telling about her little group that read and discussed poems. I hope your Weaver becomes more bold.
ReplyDeleteThe day will come when she rubs against the dogs.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted my Cat to snuggle-up with the Dogs, but he never did. As for Huw Edwards; no thanks!
ReplyDeleteDoes Weaver see the dogs as strange and boisterous members of the cat world, or herself as a misfit in the dog universe? Some of us have lived lives feeling like we didn't quite fit in.
ReplyDeleteDear John, I think you will enjoy this animation. I’m sure the main character is a welsh. Jane

Yay! One of these days Weaver will be an absolute cuddle bunny.
ReplyDeleteWeaver is her own cat and she will most likely always stay that way. One of my feral cats, Toby, was exactly the same ... he was black too. 🐈⬛
ReplyDeleteThe Huw Edwards drama was just weird. I was coping with it fine, but the end was the mouldy cherry on the rancid cake. It was not worth Martin Clunes gluing his ears back for. 🫤
I'm glad Weaver is becoming more sociable, if you can call it that! I might give the Huw show a go -- when you say "awful," do you mean Huw himself or the production?
ReplyDeleteAww, bless her, she's trying.
ReplyDeleteWe had two cats here last night and I am afraid that Gangsterrr did not try at all! We are hoping to integrate but doing so in little doses. I believe full immersion may be the way to go - I mean, there is hope for progress...
ReplyDeleteWhat did you find awful about the Huw Edwards programme? Was it the programme itself or the subject matter?
ReplyDeleteTell Weaver we're rooting for her.
