Weaver is trying her best to integrate
But like Mary Bennett in social situations,
She just can’t get it!
Rigid with awkwardness she pushed herself to her obvious limit last night and over perhaps 40 minutes crept her way to the centre of the living room from her usual ninth step on the staircase.
It was a painful watch, and I held my breath for much of the ordeal, but she finally did it !
Speaking of painful watches, I sat through The Downfall of Huw Edwards last night

DeleteDear Weaver, she's living on her own terms! One of my late cats took 3 days to emerge from the dining room and the comparative safety of his cat igloo. Like you, we were all sitting with bated breath, not daring to speak or move. He was always a scaredy cat. If he knew you, he was friendly, otherwise, he'd disappear like lightning! xx

ReplyDeleteI thought of dear Pat earlier today. And about how dismayed she would be with the current world disaster. I am glad that she was spared that. Great that her namesake is making strides toward a more relaxed life!

ReplyDeleteI have my own theory about Weaver...she is cautious and wary yes, and still has that volatility at the ready, but I do believe (in cat language) that she has come to *understand* that she has finally whipped everyone else into shape.....and now she may begin presenting pieces of herself....now that everyone knows exactly where they stand- in her playbook. Sorry.....long ....but those are my thoughts. She is clever and I would expect no less

I have been thinking about Pat a lot lately, most likely because of the current political climate. I envision her writing that she wishes we could all visit in her home for a good discussion with a glass of sherry.
ReplyDeleteI miss Weaver and her sharing her thoughts and some of her life on her blog. She inspired me to read more poetry as she wrote about it. I loved her telling about her little group that read and discussed poems. I hope your Weaver becomes more bold.
