Sometimes it’s important just to be
Several of my counselling clients want to be mindful of things other than stressors
One cried when I asked them when did you last have any fun?
I got home this afternoon to find out my sister had tidied the garden.
It looked lovely
The mock orange I bought in memory of Finlay is flowering strongly near his grave, and I lay on the grass to cloud watch, even though there wasn’t a much of a cloud in the sky.
Not many people outside Cwm Road, are used to 63 year old man lying supine in this front garden and two concerned amblers stopped briefly to ask if I was alright.
I’m enjoying the view I told them and they walked on amused at this tubby old bloke enjoying his garden

Early morning sky, midday sky, evening sky - all beautiful.

DeleteHopefully the kindly concerned amblers will try some cloud watching of their own!

I hope so too
DeleteI took our two aged donkeys up to the middle pasture this morning, the intention was to put them in the next field, the top pasture, but seeing a buzzard sat quietly on the gatepost I didn't go further, happy to let him sit there surveying his kingdom. I sat on the grass for a while, watching him and listening to the donkeys munching grass, just a few moments but enough to feel that all was as it should be. Nature is so grounding. Arrived back in the farmyard to be told a hawk had just taken a blue tit from the fence, sad but that's nature.
ReplyDeleteSmall events in a day but it makes you realise how small we are on our beautiful planet, how fleeting life can be but how thnkful we should be to be here.
Whoever you are, nicely written
DeleteBlue skies are fleeting gifts to be treasured 😉
ReplyDeleteAnd rare in wales
DeleteWhat bliss and bless Janet's garden-loving heart! She'll be pleased to know you had a lie down in the grass for sky watching (as you do if there are no clouds!).
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Everyone should cloud watch
DeleteYour garden and its extended view is looking good. Well done, Janet.
ReplyDeleteWhat is this life, if, full of care, we have no time to stand (or lie on the grass in your case) and stare? xx
❤️🌈🌈❤️
DeleteI wish FUN to everyone who hasn't had any of it for a long time. FUN, FUN, FUN, FUN!
ReplyDeleteYou exude fun dearHeart
DeleteYour garden is magical. And good for you that you can get up from the grass after your lie down. [Oh my ,won't you be mortified when some kind soul passing by calls the medics / EMTs.How about a lounger in your garden? IKEA ?]
ReplyDeleteIt took a few rolls to get up
DeleteLOL Sorry we missed that!
DeleteI have a feeling you made the day of those passersby. Janet does stunning work. Your garden is a little bit of heaven.
ReplyDeleteThey were cackling lol …it happened many years ago when I did it in the middle of the Ukrainian village once and Mandy my neighbour galloped over thinking I was dead
DeleteMy life is a little short on fun too. It's easy to push it aside because of responsibilities and obligations.
ReplyDeleteEveryone deserves a bit of fun
DeleteI always love pictures and your garden looks beautiful.
ReplyDelete"Over the hills of April
With soft winds hand in hand,
Impassionate and dreamy-eyed,
Spring leads her Saraband."
Bliss Carmen, a Canadian poet, wrote that poem and I cannot let April go without sharing it. The rest is just as beautiful and is the perfect poem to recite to my inner child while cloud gazing. XO
Since my divorce my sister has made my garden look “ pleasing”
DeleteLove your garden. Photos with the chickens are always my favorite. I’m glad you are enjoying it, too.
ReplyDeleteNow remember to do that on a clear starry night, it would be awesome. Jen
