Shaken Not Stirred

It’s going on ten years since I last visited New York. The last time I had a wonderfully boozy dinner at Docks on Third Avenue, which is Blog commentator Lee’s afternoon haunt for nibbles and cocktails.
I mention my garrulous friend because I received a lovely gift from her on Saturday. Three martini glasses direct from the Big Apple.

I promise New York will be on my list to revisit  at some point. The High Line, Moma, Grand Central’s Oyster Bar, Central Park , Docks …..perhaps one day Lee and I will raise a glass together at that famous art deco bar

I’m now at the bar in Docks. I never eat here, just cocktails so I will be a cheaper date. At 7 pm I will walk home to 5th Avenue sometimes ( a little tight ! )
      lol
It’s quiet and I told the barman of you, he said you would be given a vodka martini on the house !

  5. Cool, elegant glasses. Such an incredible city (and with a great new mayor). Not a country I want to visit at the moment.

  9. We must visit the Docks next time we're in NY - when the orange man has gone. I love a vodka martini. We might try the American Bar at the Savoy tonight (going to see Lucy Darling at the Palladium). x

  11. While you’re in NY, drop by Chicago.
We’ll go to the Art Institute and to Boystown.

    XOXO

  12. One can never have too many martini glasses. They break so easily, you know...

    They are gorgeous.

I am a gin martini guy as opposed to a vodka…though now I think about I’ve never had a vodka martini!

  14. I remember visiting NYC with my family for the 1964 World's Fair. No martinis for me.

  15. A martini glass is always a useful thing! I don't remember Docks and don't think I ever went there myself, but I looked on Google Street View and it was there when I lived in NYC. Not sure why it never crossed my radar.

  16. Nearest I've been an am likely to get is the tow path between New York Stadium and the canal in Rotherham.
