Wait for me , a song from the musical HadesTown is doing the rounds at the moment
It’s a powerful piece which strangely has become the backdrop to the story of how two snails endeavour to reach the ark.
How odd.
I’m full of cold which is tiresome and cancelled meeting a friend in Liverpool which is a pisser.
I’ve just had breakfast in Tesco’s cafe and cleaned the inside of Bluebell
I’m one crazy exciting bitch !
Stay warm, rest. Be well.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, John.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a weekend for crazy and exciting, as I treated myself to some new dishcloths this morning. 😁
My crazy exciting was making coffee and scoffing a couple of biscuits before plonking myself on the sofa with a book, cos like you dear John, I have a lurgy. Let’s just hole up and you cosset yourself and feel better soon. Jan in Castle Gresley
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on your posts, John. I've never seen any of the Dr. Who episodes but now I might have to look for some. How nice that you have gotten to work with so many good people and it's great that you let them know it. Sorry you aren't feeling well and hope you are better soon! xo
ReplyDeleteI lead a reckless life as well my friend. I tell the young girls at the grocery store not to wrap my meat, just raw dogging life:)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you weren't fully over whatever lurgy you had? Whatever, you know what to do, rest, hydrate and stay warm (hopefully with 2 cats on your knees). My highlight of the day? Repairing my patchwork shopping bag, so it lives to fight another day. Time for a rest now!😂 xx
ReplyDeleteHeavens, yes! You are far more active than I who do not live alone. I've been up since 7 and what have I done? Made a pot of oatmeal and washed the dishes I never got around to yesterday. My plans for the day? Hmmm ... get out for a walk, maybe make some rice krispie cake since my son Emil is here for the weekend to help us eat it (i.e. we old folks won't eat the whole damn pan). I feel quite the slug in comparison to all that you usually get up to!
ReplyDeleteNoah waiting for the snails has moved me; thanks for posting it. It's made me realize that sometimes it's not such a bad thing to wait for others to catch up, instead of giving up on them. I'm so impatient.
Feel better soon. -Kate
Interesting song, although the animation threw me. Can’t please everyone. Hope you feel better. But I don’t know how you can beat the energy level needed for breakfast Tesco’s and cleaning the inside of Bluebell.
ReplyDeleteI’ve just had a catch up on your posts, too. I don’t usually comment (maybe only once or twice, or could be never!) I’d just like to say that having never met you, and am very unlikely to, you are a person who has had a beneficial influence on my life. Your honesty, integrity and self deprecation makes reading your blog one of my almost daily joys. Your stories and insights into human nature enhance my understanding of the world. The links you share make me hear songs and music I’d never come across otherwise. I think you’re an all round good egg and I’m so glad I found your corner of the Internet! PennyL
ReplyDeleteI second that! Carol in Atlanta ❤️
DeleteHope you're tucked up warm and cosy with Mary, Roger, Bun & Weaver.
ReplyDeleteYou cancelled meeting a friend but cleaned your car? Where are your priorities, Mr. Gray? :)
ReplyDelete(I'm kidding -- hope you feel better soon.)
It's 13*F here/ windchill is -23/ gale at 48 mph/ ice spray warning just posted. I'd be thrilled to go out for coffee but it's just too cold. The good news is the back door was finally cleared enough of drifted iced snow for it to open, so my senior pug can go out to potty. ///Feel better. PS maybe not a cold but lingering flu? It lasted 8 weeks for me so far.
ReplyDeleteMy days are equally as thrilling. Today, I finished my jigsaw. Tomorrow, I will dismantle it, and perhaps, make some chilli.
ReplyDeleteNot as crazy as I, but I'll leave my activities to your imagination.
ReplyDeleteI took some time to recover from the last bad flu - like illness I had. Take good care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI did something to my lower back shovelling a patch in the backyard so my dog could get out to go potty. I am still in agony several days later. I find it hard to walk until I get some pain/muscle relief pills in. I can then function for about 4 hours, but it isn’t getting any better. I just don’t know what to do. I am sorry you are still not feeling well. I have avoided getting a cold so far this shit winter we are having. I hope you are feeling better soon. Gigi
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon
ReplyDeleteI take you excitement and raise it: I slept on the couch last night because one of the ferals cats got brave and decided to spend a night in. Now I am baking two pans of cinnamon rolls. Still in my night gown.
ReplyDeleteI keep starting but never finishing Hadestown; I know the first songs well and nothing after that.
ReplyDeleteIt took me two weeks or more to get over this season's flu.
