I’m cooking a roast chicken dinner today. There’s enough for two so I will plate up a dinner for a friend in the village.
The cottage smells wonderful.
I’ve just spent a good hour with Ma Manley. We are planning a history afternoon in the village hall, in order to spring board a couple of initiatives dear to our hearts.
The first is to promote the sharing of information and artefacts from Trelawnyd but to also whip up some interesting in the Community Tapestry where people from the village can design their own tapestry of say their home, or part of the village, or landmark and when finished, these personal views can be cobbled together into a community piece of art.
I love this idea, so Ma Manley is going to design me a template of my cottage, and by the time the open day is organised, I will have a work in progress to show everyone
Ps the ponies are back in their field

What an enchanting idea and, of course, you live in an enchanted cottage yourself. How sweet is that?!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the village in tapestry - in due time.
Hugs!

DeleteA community art project -- how wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt’s a first for me
DeleteThat sounds like a great idea. I would love to have my home immortalised in a tapestry.
ReplyDeleteYes, and I think we should encourage the school and the youth club to participate
DeleteThe tapestry sounds like a fantastic project, and I'm sure you'll receive plenty of support. Xx
ReplyDeleteI like the quietness of the project
DeleteOooh, I love that idea. Will someone be documenting each piece: who made it, what it depicts, materials used, time taken etc? I'd find that so interesting, it would bring it to life! xx
ReplyDeleteMa Manley is a good Marshall HH
DeleteI love the ideas. Your creativity will help make it happen. I am working on a concept of an open art studio time, when we take a large meeting room, and invite the community to come, paint, draw, knit, quilt, print. Bring your work in progress, or come use the supplies we have to start something new.
ReplyDeleteI like this idea, the neighbouring village has an art group, perhaps we can centre it around the quilt
DeleteHey!
ReplyDeleteHey
DeleteWhat a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteAnother challenge that may attract introverts
DeleteJust such great idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteThat's an exciting project, like the town quilts people made here at one time. You may want to specify a size or size range if the pieces will be formed into one textile. Your cottage painting by Ms Manley is wonderful--can you embroider? Will you learn?
ReplyDeleteIt will be a new skill to learn
DeleteYouTube. The font of all knowledge! xx
DeleteWhat a brilliant idea. A lot of work, but something for posterity. Also keep a workbook that details the creation relevance and design of each piece, and a brief history of the building depicted for future generations.
ReplyDeleteMa Manley’s book will accompany the tapestry . We also hope to get the book published
DeleteDo you ever stop squire?
ReplyDeleteThe production company , the flower shop and now this ?

Perhaps I take on too much
