This piece of music is a breath of fresh air.
I need a breath of fresh air today
My wee has turned from claret coloured to a healthier blush rosΓ© and I feel a little more human.
Especially as my day in bed, allowed me to get half a dose of flea treatment onto Weaver without inducing intensive care standard injuries.
The downside on heath news is that my eye scan this week has diagnosed another extensive bleed into my right eye. The consultant was thorough and kind and pragmatic when she told me that the injections were not working and that she suggested that they stop.
My eyesight will deteriorate and I may go blind in that eye she said
Thank good my left eye is ok , I said
Hey ho
I am so sorry about your eye, John. I was told that I am legally blind in my good eye. When I went for my injections this week my sight was slightly better, but it will not all come back because of scar tissue. I just hope my bad eye does not bleed. Good on you getting Weaver flee proofed without serious injuries. Hopefully you get clear wee soon. I have a case of thrush after my visit to the dentist yesterday.. always something.. more hugs going your way. Gigi.
ReplyDeleteNystatin is wonderful
DeleteDear John, very sorry to hear your news. For what it's worth, I have been partially sighted since birth (uncorrected squint till age 5). Yes, I know it's not a competition! But just to say I'm 73 now and cope OK using my left eye. Probably TMI but just to say there are more of us about than you'd think. My sympathies with the other afflictions but a huge well done to sorting Weaver; I still have the scar from pilling Minouche some years back! Love and hugs and hoping all will be well. Jan xx
ReplyDeleteSupporting news Jan thank u x
DeleteOh, John, it never rains... Sending hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteIt’s not been my best year , I can’t wait for 2025 to be over
DeleteHi, John, Ursula here. I feel for you. Did they name the condition? Gave you projection for how long deterioration may take? Are you actually still able to see, properly, with that eye? What measures can be taken to at least slow the process?
ReplyDeleteHoly shit. All the best,
U
Too many questions …all will be what it is
DeleteI’ve been through each scenario in turn Ursula , I just didn’t want to discuss them all here. Like I said the consultant was incredibly thorough and lots of maybes were discussed… nothing is clear re diagnosis I know that as a nurse
DeleteOh, dear. Am glad the UTI symptoms are lessening and hope you have antibiotics if they're called for.
ReplyDeleteAs for the vision in your right eye, are there better medical options in London or other medical centers in closer larger cities? I'd keep investigating until every option has been checked.
Hope you're off work and can take it easy this weekend.
Big hugs!
Forgot to say how much I loved the video of the Dutch Tenors! Ta, John.
Deletemore hugs!
Yes one tenor was more a bass
DeleteOh damn! That's the second time I've said that to you recently. Good news about the UTI improving, but I'd like to hear that it is totally, absolutely, completely, utterly GONE!! As you would too. As to the eye - that's a bugger, but if you're 'left eye dominant' you may cope pretty well - and the brain does adapt surprisingly flexibly. I'm talking through a hole in my hat - I really don't know much about it, except that although I have two functioning eyes, I do 90% of my seeing, through only one of them. Do I detect miniscle softening in Madam Weaver? XX - you need hugs at the moment XX
ReplyDeleteWeaver allowed me a cratch on her head as I was sitting on the loo this afternoon
DeleteThats a real blow. And the uti.
ReplyDeleteYou're a survivor, John and you'll be ok but we all wish it was easier for you
Jesus on reflection this year has been a cunt
DeleteWith my qualification as a counsellor one of the few positives
Thats a real blow. And the uti.
ReplyDeleteYou're a survivor, John and you'll be ok but we all wish it was easier for you
I absolutely agree with this, unless something else happens
DeleteYou’ve had a rugged week. I hope the next one is better. Your positive attitude is inspiring. Lynn, Pecos, NM, USA
ReplyDeleteI had a major problem with a client in counselling too, but I can’t speak of that
DeleteI love that song, and have never heard this version. What marvelous voices, just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBut...I am sorry to hear about your eye. So very sorry. I cannot think of a single comforting thing to say.
I don’t need platitudes , so no problem xx
DeleteI am glad the UTI is under control.
ReplyDeleteAs for the eye, I'd get a second opinion from a London practice. If something can be done the city practice will know and will provide options.
I agree, don’t give up yet. Gigi

DeleteDammit John. Just DAMMIT!!!
ReplyDeleteI did say FFS under my breath
DeleteI'm glad the UTI is clearing up but sorry about the eye situation. No suggestions here, because I know you'll use your good judgment about next steps if any. I'm just sorry you have to deal with it. Well, st least the flea treatment worked out!
ReplyDeleteAnd I can still drive …
DeleteOh dear, distressing news about your eye. Glad it doesn't affect your left eye, that's a bit of good luck.
ReplyDeleteI imagine you'll be in Weaver's bad books for awhile because of that half dose of flea treatment. Good luck with the remaining half dose.
Fuck that, she’s on her own
DeleteI have no comment or advice, just sending love and support. And a gentle hug.
ReplyDeleteThat’s all I need….. it was hard sitting in the unit all alone
DeleteWell holy hell. I'm sorry about your eye. Would you wear a patch? I'm thinking of gay men with a thing for pirates:)
ReplyDeleteToo soon?
Oh Jesus lol
DeleteSending you hugs and head scratches for Mary, Roger, Bun, and Weaver.
ReplyDeleteSkip weaver
DeleteGosh, that is terrible news about your eyesight. I think you need to be looking after yourself more, but that's probably what everyone says. x
ReplyDeleteI’m trying darling xx
DeleteVery sorry to hear about your eye deteriorating. It's horrible when you are told that treatment isn't working and so hard to pick yourself up somehow and try to adjust. Especially when feeling low because of the urine infection. Feeling unable to help but sending healing thoughts as best I can.
ReplyDeleteListen having the uti resolve seems like the biggest triumph
DeleteSorry to hear about your eye. Well done on getting Weaver half treated. Hope the other problem gets better soon. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteReceived with thanks
DeleteA mixed bag of news today. Sending a big long hug x
ReplyDeleteIt’s been a mixed bag of a year
DeleteMy sympathy, John, and I only wish there was something we could do to help. Thank you for introducing those rather lovely Dutch Tenors into my life.
ReplyDeleteJust wishing me well is enough
DeleteSome good news at least. UTIs are awful. Look after the other eye...and remember as you lose the sight of one eye it could affect your depth of field and distance judgement .
ReplyDeleteI know you say what will be will be..but the questions that U mentioned have to be asked, don't they x
Just not tonight
DeleteDid you keep the flea treatment hidden under your pillow? Will she ever come near you again?
ReplyDeleteHealth problems are worrying. Wishing you the best.
weavinfool
It’s always on my bedside table ready in case
DeleteSo sorry to read about the UTI. Not a stranger to them myself. Hope your pee clears to chardonnay colour soon. As for the eye - at least the injections will stop and you've used the word 'may' go blind in that eye. Let's hope it's a long time in the future. xx
ReplyDeleteIt’s like a flat champagne colourπ₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your eye. I'm certainly not an expert but as some others have suggested perhaps it would be a good idea to get a second opinion. Perhaps there could be laser treatment to stop the bleeding?
ReplyDeleteLaser is the first step, injections are the big guns, which I started immediately
DeleteThe care at Aberge has been first rate
Abergele eye hospital unit
DeleteNo more injections but you may go blind. Well, that's a lot to think about.
ReplyDeleteJust keep on keeping on x
There’s lots of greys in between the black and white
DeleteVery saddened to read this update, glad your feeling better, frightened about the optic update. Another of life's adjustments. I you are strong, with all that life has thrown at you. Rest, take time, and then bounce back like a fury.
ReplyDeleteThe consultant looked serious at first but I managed to make her laugh by explaining I had just downed three Valium
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your eye problems.
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon x
Thank you Alison
DeleteI am sorry to read about this John x
ReplyDeleteI’m sure things will work out
DeleteYou will decide what works best for you. "May go blind" can also mean "may not".
ReplyDeleteLovely song with fabulous voices, although it made me sad. I wanted it to be about any kind of love and not end with wedding rings.
Indeed….who knows where things go and I know medics HAVE to cover all bases, especially on prognosis
DeleteThinking of you xx
ReplyDeleteThank u xx
DeleteSorry to hear about your eye…here’s hoping you beat the odds and heal!
ReplyDeleteThank u xxx
DeleteJohn, I'm sorry to hear this. There is an anti-VEGF insert (implantable), but I don't know whether you're a candidate. I also wonder if the AREDS vitamins would be appropriate? They have been found to slow the progression of macular degeneration, at least.
ReplyDeleteIt's rough stuff. Wishing you the best.
