Good that you are safely home. That's a long dark commute---in a named storm!--- esp w your recent eye issues. You must be exhausted--cup of tea and early night?
Aaaaahhhhhm, Anne Murray! That voice and that beautiful song! My first boyfriend (of sorts) adored her. We were at his place a lot and she was usually singing.
There's no place like home, and sometimes wild weather is the perfect reminder how homely a home you have. No longer an orphan out in the storm, so hope you were then able to properly relax.
I loved Anne Murrays voice. When my kids were little she was always being played. Her most famous song was “Snowbird” your little Weaver is dropping her armour bit by bit. I bet all the fur babies were glad to see you home safe. Hugs, Gigi
It was most definitely a very wild night wasn't it. I'm glad you're all safe and well. Our only casualties were guttering, plants and our large bird table ... the birds are dining off the floor today!
Anne Murray - another Canadian with a special voice - able to convey deep feelings almost effortlessly - or so it always seemed. Was Storm Claudia named after that TV presenter with all the make up and the ridiculous fringe?
I know we're used to rain in Wales, but this was a bit much, even for us.

Hugs!
Remember I was an hour later than usual they were all hungry
DeleteThat song came up on my Spotify today, I'd not listened to it before and loved it. What a coincidence to then also see it on your post tonight!
ReplyDeleteDriving in stormy weather is never easy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are home safe and sound.
Weaver's going soft. Next thing you know, she'll be purring and making biscuits on you.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you made it home safely! Wishing you and the furry ones a safe evening. Sleep well, John dear.
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten what a nice voice she had. Give Weaver a hug from me!
ReplyDeleteYeah right
Deletebwaaahaha
DeleteWhat a beautiful song!
ReplyDeleteThere's no place like home. Weaver is finally thawing. She'll always be her own girl, but she knows where home is, too! xx

ReplyDeleteClaudia the presenter is not quite that wet
DeleteI remember this song playing endlessly on the radio when I was a young teenager. And her version of "Daydream Believer," too.
ReplyDeleteA voice like chocolate
DeleteI think the worst of it didn't get here... thankfully... everywhere is already sodden.
ReplyDeleteDriving through a storm is no joke.
Perhaps Weaver is seeing your worth?!
She was hungry
