The lisping choir doing the BeeGeeS a tad surreal but welcome on a misty Monday morning. Autumn is here, and it’s remaining murky and darkish at 7 am.
Going Gently will be quiet over the next few days , very much it has on the last two nights .
I can’t magic news, and no news is good news, like they say.
Let’s hope so…..
I’m up now after a sleep, tomorrow I’m on three nights, so it’s jet lag city
I’ve made meatballs from scratch .
I find a good tomato sauce is made better with a good tablespoon of blackcurrant jelly
gives it body.
❤️ Olivia

DeleteDo you mean 'no news is good news'?
ReplyDeleteI did indeed 🩷
DeleteNo news can be a relief sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYou don’t know just how true that statement is
DeleteDays with nothing to report are good. Hope you manage to get some rest. xx
ReplyDeleteI did ,
DeleteEveryone needs a break! And sometimes the break is as simple as not feeling the need to articulate anything at all to anyone at all. And relax.......
ReplyDeleteI like to say something here daily, but every diary has a “ not much happened today” page
DeleteQuiet is good - relish it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I should relish the silence and quiet more than ido
DeleteYesterday it dawned on me that fall had arrived. I got busy getting the house ready for winter. It was sunny and dry so brought in the umbrella from the outside table, put the glass panel in the front door and took the screen out. Also packed up the fans till next year. I put away my sandals and shorts. My house is starting to get very cool inside but my daughter and I have a thing about who can last longer without turning on the central heating. We made it til end of September last year although I should have caved before that. I am sad today after realizing that this was my anniversary. It would have been 41 years. Have a good day John. Hugs!
I’m still waiting for more pieces from the Eurovision to post
DeleteTake care. xo
ReplyDeleteWill do x🙏
DeleteWe're here.
ReplyDeleteI know, it’s a bit banal today but that’s ok, I can’t be soaking everyday ( irony xx 🩷)
DeleteBe well, John dear.
ReplyDeleteXx🥧🩷
DeleteOh, yum! Your meatballs and tomato sauce look delicious. Will you add pasta of some sort and take that to work for midnight supper?
ReplyDeleteWishing you calmer night shifts than the weekend busy shifts.
Hugs!
I ran out of spaghetti but found some noodles
DeleteThat looks really delish. Hope the night shifts are kind to you.
ReplyDeleteThe extra night will pay for a new exhaust for bluebell
DeleteOooh, I've never thought to put blackcurrant jelly in a tomato sauce. I hope the three (yikes!) nights pass quickly and peacefully. xx
ReplyDeleteIt gives body and sweetness that cuts the acidity of the tomato’s
DeleteThat looks amazing, maybe you should just do a cookbook--a cookbook sprinkled with blog anecdotes, oh how perfect!
ReplyDelete. Do you put the meatballs on pasta or rice? Your food always looks delicious. My mom taught us to put a meagre tablespoon of sugar in all tomato sauces, or a pinch of sugar on any fresh tomatoes. Cuts the acid.
Three nights, hard--but will provide some cash for fun outings this fall.
Oh I saw above, you are having your MB w noodles, so perfect for an autumn-ish night. enjoy.
DeleteBloody lovely
DeleteJohn, enjoy the meatballs and I hope work goes well. No news is indeed good news❤️
ReplyDeleteSending hugs and love. Carol in Atlanta

DeleteI’m always impressed with people who cook up such beautiful food from scratch. But I’ve never been able to find “scratch” in the supermarket. May you have fairly easy nights and wonderfully restful days.
ReplyDeleteI bet u cook beautifully
DeleteNo news is a lovely peaceful thing. Thank you for the sauce tip. I'm always ready for sauces! None o' yer sauce there, John!
ReplyDeleteIt gives body
DeleteI live in New York, just off 5 th avenue
ReplyDeleteAnd my life is more boring than yours can ever be
Never apologise
Wasn’t that one of your husband’s sayings?
Lee
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed
Your cooking always looks so delish. I no longer cook, I microwave and airfry. I want to make mac and cheese but my freezer is full so I will have to eat leftovers for awhile to make room for leftover mac and cheese. I took a container out for tonight but I’m not sure if it is soup or mashed potatoes. Lol Enjoy those meatballs tonight. Gigi
