I wonder what Roger and the girls will make of the new bulldog? I suspect Mary will just take it in her stride - been there, done that! Oh, yes, Moon River. A beautiful song. xx
The perfect song! On the Norfolk Broads we used to see an upmarket cruiser called Moon River. The tender was named Two Drifters. Still think that was inspired from a boat owner with a soul. Ooh, a new bulldog! You must be feeling relived at the job news and busy looking forward. (There are a few in rescue not too far from you....) Good luck!
You old softy John, a bulldog will make the cottage home again, especially after the scare of a valuation and the gut churning worry over your job - go for it!! Moon River and Moonlight & Roses were the favourite songs of my mother. Jan in Castle Gresley
I mentioned your job news in an online friend group, without revealing your details, and everyone sends love and good wishes, especially a couple of retired hospice nurses in the group.
OMG, if you have 5 pets how much will the Vet bills be. My one has cost me over $2000. In the last month for annual check up vaccinations tests and one scare. On top of that grooming every 6 weeks is about $75. And don’t get me started on her special diet because of food allergies. But we all would welcome you adopting another Bully. We know you love the breed. Gigi
You have a lot in common with my Mother. Moon River was her favorite song, sung by Andy Williams. I miss her so and I will never hear Moon River without thinking of her.
I recall the first time I ever heard 'Moon River' - 1961 on telly sung by the then unknown Danny Williams (Not Andy!), whose version took it to the British Number 1. Even on first hearing it was a song (by Mercer/Mancini) that made an immediate and profound impression on so many. The next day on going to the fish & chip shop there they were, customers and servers all talking about it. Pity that Audrey Hepburn's weak singing film voice didn't go anywhere near doing it justice.
Can't wait to see the new doggie.Even if it's not 'handsome', as so many of that breed tend not to be, it's already won me over.
Oh! A new bulldog!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JOY!
ReplyDeleteMoon River is one of my favorite songs.
