The lisping choir at full lisp.
Yesterday we raised over £1400.00
Money that will be used towards the upkeep of our lovely hall
A Hall that has been friend of the Flower Show for 50 years
Ps some thoughts on vicarious pleasure
Yesterday Pippa from the Rectory won first with her coffee cake, she was beaming from ear to ear
Mr Kerfoot entered his first show, even though he’d lived in the village for over 60 years
He won best in show for his vegetable trug and it was a pleasure shaking his hand as he got photographed by a proud family
Ma Manley beamed at her best in show quiche and Jenny Morris and hubby and mum giggled with delight in their multiple wins.
Pauline M won the cup for most points in the flowers and told me she’ll spend hours on social media sharing her success ….
That’s the importance of the Flower and Produce Show
A bit of pride, a bit of community, lots of fun and
A bit of validation
That should keep the lights and heat on for a month or so.

DeleteLoved the music and also hearing the results of the flower show. One day at a time. XO

DeleteHow excellent to have raised that amount for the Hall! Does your community need to have other events (concert, choir music, art exhibit, quilt/handwork show, or whatever) to keep the Hall in funds for the whole year?
ReplyDeleteLoved the lisping choir as always and I never tire of their amazing and energetic conductor!
Happy recovery day!
Hugs!
We have a great deal to raise , ian and the TCA have raised so much already for a new repaired roof and windows….im so proud of his work
DeleteThat's brilliant! Well done all involved.

DeleteThe burning question on my mind... Who won the Hard Boiled Egg category???
ReplyDeleteSandra Cameron and we give her the BIGGEST new cup
Delete( Sandra is a wonderful supporter of the show)
What a wonderful result! That gives the village hall a very good breathing space. And I have to admit - ne striking thing about your show pictures was the beautiful, neat, clean and well kept look of your much loved village hall. And as you will know only too well - not many reach or are kept at that standard. Well done John, for rallying the troops. And well done Trelawnyd, for a job better than well done. And onwards to 2026!
ReplyDeleteThe hall IS the village
DeleteBut John, how did your tulips do?
