My eye injection was unpleasant but not painful
I asked the nurse if a colleague could hold my head still and she complied with suitable force
( she could have wrestled a pig)
The only thing that went wrong
Is…..
They used permanent marker to dot above the eye to be injected
I did see the funny side
As a former surgery nurse, it is so very, very important to have the patient mark (or nurse mark with patient pointing) the planned surgical side when there are bilateral sites like eyes, ears, arms, legs or multiples like fingers or toes. No mistake that way. Nobody wants that kind of mistake!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad this injection is over with, no pain, and that someone helped you keep still.
Big hugs!
Babs xx I get you
DeleteWell, think of it as a beauty spot rather than a war wound! At least there wasn't a big, red arrow as well. Glad there was no pain and no bloodshot eye this time. Time to rest and recuperate. xx
ReplyDeleteYes a dot that may encourage conversations
DeleteAh... nothing that a tub of Ajax and a scrubbing brush can't shift π
ReplyDeleteAjax!! Bloody hell
DeleteAny surgical procedure requires permanent marker locators. After cataract surgery it's usually gone due to the surgical prep. It washes off. Face cloth and warm water. Does the trick
ReplyDeleteI’ve tried xx
DeleteAlcohol wipe
DeleteTried
DeleteBaby oil? (or possibly any other oil) xx
DeleteMelon scoop?
DeleteHuh?
DeleteJohn, I’m so glad it’s over and done!! I can’t stand anything being done to my eyes. Take care of yourself❤️ Carol in Atlanta

DeleteGood! I think we've all been worried. At least I have. Or not worried, really, just thinking about you, wanting it to be over for you.
ReplyDeleteI’ve got. Many more injections to come
DeleteVery glad for you it is over! I would hate it as I dislike anyone near my eyes!π’☹️well done for surviving so well and hope you feel great tomorrow!>π€πAnna mid Wales

DeleteI thought beauty spot too. You might just become an instagram worthy trendsetter. It will be interesting to see how many people notice and which ones mention it and which ones pretend it's not there. I would have fun with it.
ReplyDeleteOk will try
DeleteStrong nurse. Strong medicine. Strong ink! Maybe a conversation starter.
ReplyDeleteGawd help me
DeleteOMG thank goodness!!
ReplyDeleteI would have freaked OUT. I'm such a wuss.
Glad is over.
XOXO
More injections to come x
DeleteDon't know about on skin, but have successfully used acetone to remove permanent marker on other surfaces. Anyway, it's safe to say it will fade pretty quickly.
