Curtains

The Village Hall is a big space to upkeep. The stage itself would compliment an average secondary  school, so today I helped the TCA Volunteers clear the stage in readiness for the new stage curtains which will be erected tomorrow.
The Hall’s future has been secured by the Trelawnyd Community Association which has recently raised funds for repairs to be done on the roof and double glazing to be installed.

A great achievement.

Now the velvet voiced Linda ( far left) has suggested a Christmas review featuring musical and dramatic talent from the village( after a gin and tonic of course!)

We already have a dozen people interested in helping out

What fun

  1. It looks like a decent building, and I imagine the upkeep is quite substantial. Well done to all those who give of their time and effort to keep it going. The heart of village life. Xx

  2. What will your contribution be? Are you going to do impression, juggle, or ventriloquism?

Wonderful building and am so glad many contributors and volunteers are helping keeping it in use and in good condition. Glad it's fun work, too.
The Christmas gala sounds delightful and hope the building can be put to good use every month.

    Hugs!

  6. As a keen sewist, my first thought was, I'm glad I don't have to make those new curtains! Then I wondered what will happen to the old ones? I'm sure someone would be happy to repurpose them. The Christmas review sounds like it'll be fun. Are you going to do a turn, or are you purely backstage? xx

Your community is the best! It’s great that building is being cared for. I hope you will be in the Christmas Review. Take care. Carol in Atlanta

  9. It does sound like fun. Was the velvet-voiced Linda’s suggestion after a gin and tonic or will all performances be after a gin and tonic?

  10. We used to have a similar show annually in our small town and it was a highlight. Then folks changed and became more worldly — too good for the old fashioned make it yourself entertainment. The local show was better and brought much needed community. Enjoy yours. It’s worth the effort..

  11. Perhaps you could read from the same Janet and John book as Terry Wogan did on his radio show. What fun. Josie ( )

    1. Oh, I like that idea. Maybe Janet would help out, a real Janet and John story! I'm giggling already. xx

  14. I do have a copy of the Janet and John book that was sold for Children in Need many years ago. Of course you can borrow it. Josie ( )
