Mary has the phantom pregnancy mooches today, hence the towels… Roger is putting up the drama with his usual alacrity.
Weaver has been braving the lane traffic with her usual bad temper and Bun is sitting in the sun looking pleased with herself.
I’m glad I’m on holiday still
The other morning , I made myself useful and took kelda and her cats to the vets. In turn Kelda made the Flower Show video, quid pro quo
As I waited for the cat boxes to be loaded up, I spied a villager leaving his house for work. He stopped short, surprised to see me there, then waved and walked over.
He’d obviously heard of my possible redundancy worries and gave me one of those understanding supportive faces people do when faced with someone else’s bad luck.
And quite spontaneously held out his hand and held mine for a while, in a sudden gesture that quite moved me.
It’s these little things that get you through the day
Village pulling together. As it should be x
ReplyDeleteAs it so often does

DeleteThank you both xx
Animals make life so much better. I don't know about you, but it's the not knowing that is so hard on me. Once I know the worst, I can get on with things. I hope the worst doesn't happen.
ReplyDeleteYes it’s the not knowing that is killing me
DeleteI’m not sleeping well
DeleteThere is much good in this world. We all need to support one another. We're all out here, scattered across the globe, supporting you through this tough time. xx
ReplyDeleteI noted the care and comments on Steve’s blog recently , after the sad death of olga,
DeleteThe good side of blogging , lots of support evident
Here too x we are lucky
You are so woven into your community. I'm happy to read about this meeting.
ReplyDeleteI should be I’ve been here 20 years
DeleteReal community spirit and support can help sustain us through a lot of the cr@p that life throws our way.
ReplyDeleteI talked to some gay friends on line today, Matt from Denmark and jay from stoke , and boy did we laugh, jay had bought a hot tub which I called a paddling pool, the subsequent banter made me cry with much needed laughter
DeleteVery nice.

DeleteThat'll do it. Now if we could all remember to do the same for others.

ReplyDeleteI’ve had several such moments in the village over the past few days, ian from the police house, Julie from up high street , Mandy next door, Ewan from trendy carol’s………
DeleteI call those 'moments of grace' - a reminder that we are not alone.
ReplyDelete“Moments of grace “
DeleteI love this and with your permission I will use it
Neighbors in a small village can be a wonderful source of comfort.
ReplyDeleteGood neighbours anywhere are a godsend
DeleteWe are all pulling for the best outcome for you, Dear John. So glad your villagers are showing you they care.
ReplyDeleteEven here in my California small town where the streets are wide and houses separated, my neighbors have pulled together to care for me during a recent illness, bringing soup, tea and comfort. It gives one hope during these fraught times in Murka.
How lovely for both of us
DeletePaule Caillou Thank u xxxx
DeleteYou are receiving what you have given which is care and attention, love and respect.
ReplyDeleteThe uncertainty of this has got to be hard to endure. Wishing for a good outcome for you John.
ReplyDeleteI thought Mary looked tired too. But sweet photo of the dogs together.
ReplyDeleteThe waiting is really awful. It is like waiting for a life changing medical diagnosis, and worrying and waiting, unable to function properly or even rest.
