A Siamese Cat in a Wind Tunnel

Me and my sister Janet went to the cinema last night. The film The Accountant 2 was shite but we both said it was nice to get out of the house even though the best we could say about the film was that it was short . Ben Afflick’s Botox stole the acting honours.
My first boyfriend overused Botox in later yearsand the last photograph I saw of him ( on a gay dating site) he looked like a Siamese cat caught in a wind tunnel .
Thank fuck I’m not that vain.
Mind you there are no wrinkles on a balloon as they say in Sheffield

Today I’m writing an essay, my last one for university
I’ve put chilli broth in the slow cooker for supper and breakfast is
Avocado on whole meal toast with poached eggs with The Archers Omnibus of course
Bliss
I’ve given the Welsh an extra large eggs each to play with and eat
Eggs make their coats shine

Solala from Sweden
Ps
The scene of Pope Francis’ lifelong friend the nun, Sister Genevieve breaking protocol unchecked to say goodbye to her friend left me in tears….I loved that the Vatican staff respected her and left her alone

  1. That's a superb question for anyone considering any 'tweakments' as they are now apparently known . "Do you want to look like a Siamese cat in a wind tunnel? "

  2. The wrinkles on a balloon analogy made me laugh. I don't have the energy to be overly bothered with how I look. I'd rather look my age than look like a cartoon character, with the teeth, nose, cheeks, boobs etc. xx

I must be that balloon, no wrinkles, just sags and scars from Skin cancer but at my age I have earned it all. I never did consider vain enough to get botox. I am at the invisible age anyway. I had just pulled out a portion of chilli from the freezer to have for lunch with some cornbread purchased yesterday. I miss my siamese cats and watched a lot of cat shows on youtube yesterday. Have a good day , John Gigi

  5. Botox is such a thief of character.
Pope Francis' funeral was spectacular, and strangely moving to we non-Catholics.

Botox injections are also used as a migraine treatment and I was concerned at first that I would develop some weird facial manifestations but I guess because of the siting or whatever that doesn't happen, for anyone with a similar concern. I wish I had an avocado for breakfast, must add to my list! The dogs could have the poached egg.....

  10. I've never understood why an actor would botox up their face. An actor's face is his most important tool.
So. I'd never heard of Solala. They seem like such merry gents.

Good to read you're enjoying a fine breakfast -- good to share that sweet image of real tears for a pope loved as a friend. (And, yes, I'm another non-Catholic who liked the man.)

Delightful post, John, and I loved the Siamese cat and balloon analogies!
What a heartbreaking picture of Sister Genevieve bidding her friend good-bye.
    Last Essay! Wahooooo!!!!!

    Hugs!

  15. Siamese cat in a wind tunnel makes a good comparison. Cosmetic work gone wrong is worse than natural aging.
The Pope was a man of good intensions, and he will be missed.

  16. Shame about the movie... I really did like the first one.. i though Ben was surprisingly good in that one...I thought as long as they give him good supporting actors and a good story line he could pull it off again.. I would like to see him achieve the success that..his friend Matt Damon has achieved.. in my honest opinion.. Hugs! deb

  17. The Siamese cat image is hilarious, even though it leaves me with the mental image of Jocelyn Wildenstein, and I'm sure your boyfriend wasn't THAT far gone.

  18. I had the dubious pleasure of a Nasal flap reconstruction after skin cancer, which had the bonus if tightening up my forehead, but I don't recommend it 😅 I'm happy it's your last essay, you must be relieved x
