Musical Nostalgia is back in the cinema and Snow White ( looking rather like Audrey Tatou in Amelie) looks to be another hit for Disney. Rachel Zegler has a wonderfully pure voice for the role
A restful uneventful day here. I’m on one night shift ( a favour for a friend) then on two weeks holiday!!!!
Yayyyyyy
Two weeks off, just in time for the warmer weather. Yippee!
ReplyDeleteAny plans? Or just go with the flow? xx
The word is that it's the worst Disney remake to date (and that's already a very low bar) and it's expected to bomb. Funnily enough, I'm believed to have been the last person to interview the original Snow White. She was absolutely wonderful. She sang to me - a proper Snow White song, not whatever it is this girl's attempting. She was called Adriana Caselotti and she had one of the most famous voices in the English-speaking world even though very few people knew her name. In 1937 they didn't credit the voices in animated movies. Bel Ami
ReplyDeleteWork well, then rest well.
ReplyDeleteOne more night shift and then fun, fun, fun!
ReplyDeleteHave some fun in your two weeks break, enjoy all you decide to do or not do but keep us informed please. Jan in Castle Gresley
ReplyDeleteWhat fun have you planned for your holiday, John?
ReplyDeleteYou deserve a break. Enjoy yourself! Cali
ReplyDeleteWhat joy!!! Hope tonight's shift is a pleasant send-off. You are so kind to delay the start of your holiday to help out a friend tonight.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nu on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs!
Oh you will be de-mob happy. Wonderful. (For what it's worth, I don't like how people are taught to sing these days. Voices so pure and earnest - all the character is lost.)
ReplyDeleteLove the title on this blog!

DeleteMy favourite Mae quote is far too rude for mixed company 🤭
DeleteThink about the characters of Snow White's seven dwarfs. Which one would suit you best?
ReplyDeleteHope the night shift goes well, and your two-week holiday is wonderful! Wishing you & Nu a brilliant time Monday.
ReplyDeleteTake good care of yourself, John dear.
Two weeks, great. Enjoy yourself John but pace yourself. Have lots of fun and also some relaxing time, you deserve it. Have a lovely two weeks and plenty of furry cuddles.
ReplyDeleteJean.
I wonder what happened to Mavis. I always enjoyed those comments.
ReplyDeletemavis is still around, battling ill health but around
DeleteI hope it's a hit. I like the way Disney revisits and modernizes its old properties.
ReplyDeleteFor me it's the equivalent of somebody slapping a coat of Dulux on the Sistine Chapel. Snow White was a revolutionary film in 1937 and remains a masterpiece for all time. It is revisited by every generation that finds it and loves it. And as for modernisation - this is a beloved centuries' old story that doesn't need 21st century sensibilities and fears of offending loaded onto it.
