On one of those murky, winter days when everything feels damp and cold and miserable.
Mrs Trellis was out in her winter coat and erect bobble hat. But she was the only one in the village I saw, as everyone else were hidden away behind curtains and blinds backed by the cheerful glow of lamps and fires.
It is a night for fires, and throws and for wrapping my lovely green cashmere scarf around my head like a
Bedouin.
It’s not a good look
But it’s warm
The twins are in front of the fire and I’m pleased that Bun walked over to sit on my knee next to Roger who was so surprised he showed Goo goo eyes whoever was watching.
They sat together for twenty minutes
It’s a start
A busy week ahead ,
Too busy
Having the entire household relaxed by the fire is the perfect Sunday evening downtime before Monday madness kicks in all over again. Hope you made the most of it! Such accord is always too lovely, but too brief!
ReplyDeleteThe Bedouin look is perfect for warmth around your head and neck! We need a selfie, please and thank you!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that Bun surprised Roger by being in close contact with you both.
Be sure and stay hydrated during your busy week and perhaps have meals in the slow cooker to greet you after each busy day.
We're busy now in preparation for the snow and ice that may arrive Tuesday and stay until Thursday morning, more ice than snow if the forecast is correct. May the power stay on.
Hugs!
Those twins will soon be taking Albert's place in escorting the rest of your menagerie.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice picture you painted. Linda
ReplyDeletea good start, indeed
ReplyDeleteThe kittens are getting big, judging from that photo.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear that they've all made a truce with each other. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteA lovely, cosy scene. Xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely photo, a good end to your week and enough to help set you up for the next one. Animals make the world seem like a better place don't they. xx
ReplyDeleteThat fire looks so cozy. The kittens are nearly cattens, aren't they! Keeping warm I find relates so closely to my emotional state I just HAVE to have heat in winter. I explain it by a childhood spent in a FREEZING boarding school. A truly dreadful experience.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted Bun is finding her preferred place - of course it's your knee!! Where else would it be!
Lovely news..well done Bun Roger and you xx
ReplyDeleteComfort over fashion, join the club! Bun knows the warmest place is cuddled up with you and Roger. I hope Weaver finally realises it, too. Nothing quite like having a living fur blanket on your knees! Don't let the busy week scupper your efforts on the diabetes front. Eat well, hydrate lots and rest often. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely photo. I long for a real fire like yours but have to make do with the flickering flames of my electric faux fire and the radiators.
ReplyDeleteI’m imaging Bun and Roger at ease for 20 minutes. So nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how the term "erect" always seems right when describing Mrs Trellis.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a cozy fire and cuppa hot tea or hot chocolate. Bundle up for sure. It’s a priority and snuggle down to enjoy just like Bun and Roger.
ReplyDeleteI hate busy weeks. Hope everything goes as planned, no surprises, except good ones:)
ReplyDeleteLovely scenario! But may I ask about what looks like a small ogre on a side table in the left side of the photo?
ReplyDeleteSounds a lovely & cozy evening before a busy week. Stay safe & well, John dear.
ReplyDeleteAll is well in the Gray household when the fires alight and the pets settle. A truce is a good thing, long may it last! Keep warm, good soup a hot toddy or two and pace yourself this week!
ReplyDeleteI used to wear a turban in Morocco when I got cold, so I get it!
ReplyDeleteMy dear man, so glad the scarf can be of service.:)
