My friend Colin came over from Liverpool last night and we drank wine, ate a Chinese takeaway and gossiped. He’s a true cat person so Bun and Weaver made a bee line for him.
I was jealous
This afternoon I went to the Mostyn Gallery to see the works by Greek painter Apostolos Georgiou
# nice weekend
Yes, what a nice weekend you're having. I hope the snow by-passes you. If not, light the fire, put an old film on and snuggle up with the furries. xx
ReplyDeleteBloody lovely x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend. Hope you stay safe in the snow.
ReplyDeleteNo snow as yet
DeleteSo glad to hear Bun and Weaver said hello to Colin!
ReplyDeleteAlso glad to know you're safe & sound at home before the snow hits. Stay safe & warm, John dear.
I’m toasty
DeleteIn my long johns and a cashmere scarf
The dogs are cuddled up and the twins are sitting in front of the fire
A cashmere scarf! Oooh, you can fling it prettily and channel your inner Chic Eleanor and her pashmina style.
DeleteI love it! Cashmere and long johns... my mind's eye giggled.
DeleteHow delightful to spend time with Colin, Ben, and Ruth!
ReplyDeleteIt is just perfect that Weaver and Bun made the best of Colin's presence and his affinity for cats!
I have to say the painting in your picture strikes me as looking like a bill collector is chasing someone who is fleeing on horseback. Have never heard of that Greek painter so will have to look at some of his other paintings.
Hope you're off work so you don't have to drive in the snow.
Hugs!
Babs I’m working tomorrow night and have already flagged it on the hospice what’s appgroup I may have difficulty getting in
DeleteWhat a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteOff topic, remember last summer you went to see the cruise ship Queen Mary 2 --relaunched? or celebrated? Last night the ship was anchored outside my windows, ''off the roads'' [shipping lanes] before heading across to Southampton, UK.--all brilliantly lit up, so festive and exciting. Rarely see cruise ships now, post covid/ winter. It was thrilling. After your post, I had made a mental note it would be here now, seeing the ship made me think of you. I use a shipping / ship finder app to discern the ships I see.
It’s magnificent lizzy I loved the whole drama of the ship x
DeleteIt is a true ''ocean liner'' in the Art Deco tradition, not a floating resort hotel like modern ships are. [tho I think is was built fairly recently?]
DeleteWe went across to NY on QMII in October. It is a very beautiful ship.
DeleteI sailed from New York to Southampton on QMII - bel Ami
DeleteSounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year Gary xx
DeleteNice weekend, with just the right balance of friends, food and fun.
ReplyDeleteYes I felt the balance , no loneliness
DeleteSounds like a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteI’m now in my long johns awaiting the snow
DeleteWe have a tiny flutter of snow in Bristol
ReplyDeleteAnd my fire is on
Siobhan x
Nothing here x
DeleteNot far from you, in Glastonbury, the merest sprinkle! Kath x
DeleteI wonder why they called the coffee shop "Providero". Do the staff speak in Latin?
ReplyDeleteI’m guessing it means some who provides
DeleteA sprinkle here in Glastonbury. We rarely get snow, my 3 yr old dog has never seen the white stuff! Kath x
ReplyDeleteWe had a dusting of snow this morning but it has disappeared now. I like driving in the snow so went out for milk and eggs, good excuse. It was very pretty while it lasted. Now just watching netflix for the afternoon. I thought The Six Triple Eight was well acted. Have you seen it? Gigi
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice weekend of fun, friends, and food! Plus art!
ReplyDeleteNow you know beyond any doubt that the twins are proper cats - making a beeline confirms it.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from the very rainy northwest coast here in the us!

No snow here yet, but the roads looked icy tonight. Take care and stay snuggled.
ReplyDeleteWe had a dusting of an inch of snow last night. It was calm and very peaceful. My beautiful moment last night.
ReplyDeleteGreat weekend of friends and sharing a good meal.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold outside, stay warm. Winter is here and the snow is coming.
My grandad swore by long johns so you are in good company. Glad your weekend was fulfilling, Bun and Weaver obviously smelt your cat friend; they have a nose for who likes them. I understand the jealous side of it, I hand raised a beautiful Calico from 10 days old, she loved me for the food but absolutely adored my partner and slept on him any chance she got... wouldn't come too near me if I didn't have food and if I picked her up she wriggled till I desisted lol.
ReplyDeleteGlad it was a nice weekend and you are safe and warm indoors. I never feel like doing much when it is really cold. It's a good excuse for curling up with a book under a blanket!
ReplyDeleteThe snow where I'm at has lived up to its warning.
ReplyDeleteYou social butterfly!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to read your blog of things you have done and look forward to. I am saddened to read the negative commentary on other blogs without even a breath of fresh air to acknowledge the new year and look forward to positives and hope. Happy New Year John.
