Takeaway and lunch

My friend Colin came over from Liverpool last night and we drank wine, ate a Chinese takeaway and gossiped. He’s a true cat person so Bun and Weaver made a bee line for him.
I was jealous

This afternoon I went to the Mostyn Gallery to see the works by Greek painter Apostolos Georgiou

After popping into Waterstones I met my friends Ben and Ruth for lunch at Providero ( soup to die for ) and left earlyish to get home before the snow warning

# nice weekend

  1. Yes, what a nice weekend you're having. I hope the snow by-passes you. If not, light the fire, put an old film on and snuggle up with the furries. xx

  3. So glad to hear Bun and Weaver said hello to Colin!
Also glad to know you're safe & sound at home before the snow hits. Stay safe & warm, John dear.

    2. A cashmere scarf! Oooh, you can fling it prettily and channel your inner Chic Eleanor and her pashmina style.

How delightful to spend time with Colin, Ben, and Ruth!
It is just perfect that Weaver and Bun made the best of Colin's presence and his affinity for cats!
I have to say the painting in your picture strikes me as looking like a bill collector is chasing someone who is fleeing on horseback. Have never heard of that Greek painter so will have to look at some of his other paintings.
Hope you're off work so you don't have to drive in the snow.

    Hugs!

  5. What a fun weekend!
Off topic, remember last summer you went to see the cruise ship Queen Mary 2 --relaunched? or celebrated? Last night the ship was anchored outside my windows, ''off the roads'' [shipping lanes] before heading across to Southampton, UK.--all brilliantly lit up, so festive and exciting. Rarely see cruise ships now, post covid/ winter. It was thrilling. After your post, I had made a mental note it would be here now, seeing the ship made me think of you. I use a shipping / ship finder app to discern the ships I see.

    2. It is a true ''ocean liner'' in the Art Deco tradition, not a floating resort hotel like modern ships are. [tho I think is was built fairly recently?]

    3. We went across to NY on QMII in October. It is a very beautiful ship.

We had a dusting of snow this morning but it has disappeared now. I like driving in the snow so went out for milk and eggs, good excuse. It was very pretty while it lasted. Now just watching netflix for the afternoon. I thought The Six Triple Eight was well acted. Have you seen it? Gigi

Now you know beyond any doubt that the twins are proper cats - making a beeline confirms it.

My grandad swore by long johns so you are in good company. Glad your weekend was fulfilling, Bun and Weaver obviously smelt your cat friend; they have a nose for who likes them. I understand the jealous side of it, I hand raised a beautiful Calico from 10 days old, she loved me for the food but absolutely adored my partner and slept on him any chance she got... wouldn't come too near me if I didn't have food and if I picked her up she wriggled till I desisted lol.

  19. Glad it was a nice weekend and you are safe and warm indoors. I never feel like doing much when it is really cold. It's a good excuse for curling up with a book under a blanket!

I am so glad to read your blog of things you have done and look forward to. I am saddened to read the negative commentary on other blogs without even a breath of fresh air to acknowledge the new year and look forward to positives and hope. Happy New Year John.
