Oh my, it is 7C and overcast here and we have not had a drop of snow yet. When my late husband was dying in hospital 5 years ago last week, we watched the first snow of the year coming down. The weather is really changing here. Consider this as your Christmas card as we are having a postal strike that is predicted to last a long time. I hope you will get enough cards to surround your living room this year. That snow looks pretty but you can have it! Cheers Gigi
So pretty. We have it here in South Derbyshire. In a while I shall let my now grown up kittens out for their first snow experience. Possibly confused faces and shaking of the feet, or maybe refusal to venture out, we shall see.
Big kittens first snow. First a stare then a sniff. A tentative step or two and a shake of the front paw. She twice scooped up some snow in her paw and licked it. He went over to a slightly protruding mole hill and wee'd on it. Then they went carefully exploring, little paw prints in the snow. 🐾 Jean.
Well, there's a Christmas card shot right there! Very pretty. Snow overnight here in West Yorkshire which settled. The usual roads blocked, so instead of a planned trip to the seaside at Withernsea today, am painting inside doors. They needed doing, but I had really fancied my fish and chips. Foiled again!
Beautiful. Winter white! A bit early. Send some to me. Massachusetts is in a drought. Everything outside is dusty and the air is very dry. Has Roger been outside? I'm curious about his reaction.
Lovely photos of what looks like a heavy, wet snow. How nice to be able to stay cozy at home and have classes on-line. Hot chocolate with a bit of booze?
Teen years in suburban Chicago. I know heavy wet snow when I see it! I was there in January, 1967 when we had 27" of heavy wet snow in less than 24 hours. It was then called "The Big Snow".
Wow! So glad College got the word out early & lectures were moved online. Hope you've enjoyed the day at home with Bun, Weaver, Mary & Roger. Stay safe & warm!
I'd forgotten how pretty snow looks in Uk villages. Doesn't last though the slush stage is yuk. Glad you can stay home, work online and keep warm. Soup and toast for lunch .... kittens and dogs to keep you company. Bliss.
It has been a while since I drove in heavy snow. I had forgotten how cold the first few miles can be. Heating in some new electric cars is an optional extra! With some drivers, lights seem to be optional too.
I was surprised to see snow this morning for an hour as we are in the South East of England and were not forecast to get any. It soon disappeared though, happily. Your photos are beautiful.
My sister lives in the posh part of Swansea so may have snow too today ..good luck with it ..I love that first snow fall of the year. Here in the most Southern tip of Canada it's still very mild weather ..not even a frost so far ..my flowers and herbs are still blooming. Stay warm and and wrap up well when you build your snowman.xx
It is beautiful if you don't have to shovel it. I just got off the phone with a cousin who lives in North Dakota, hassling her about the snowstorm that has started outside her house. But we'll get ours, if the long range forecasts mean anything.
We are solidly into Spring here and this morning as I looked out on a sunny day, my colleague at home across the city reported it was overcast and drizzling. But that's Wellington!
Ditto in Banner Cross, Sheffield.

DeleteWe had some snow last night, but it's slowly melting. I do love looking at it, when I'm snuggled up in the warm! xx
ReplyDeleteRoger was amazed
DeleteVery pretty. Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteMy long johns are on
DeleteGot your e-xmas cards there!
ReplyDeleteI’ve often used photos from here for Christmas cards
DeleteYou need a fire, crumpets, a good book and a snuggle with the dogs. It's not settled in Bedford. x
ReplyDeleteI was in a zoom lecture all morning
DeleteHeavens!!! We had some quite heavy rain this morning.
ReplyDeleteLightweight southerner
DeleteSnow?! Already?! Wow.
ReplyDeleteIt's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

ReplyDeleteThe first snow is pretty! After that, it's just annoying. Stay safe, John.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have the option to stay home. What does Roger think of the white stuff???
ReplyDeleteVery pretty.

That's a lot of snow. We still only have a skiff of snow but we're supposed to get some this week.
ReplyDeleteSame as JayCee here, very cold. Thankfully dry underfoot

I hate driving in heavy snow especially at night

ReplyDeleteYou can always tell snow has fallen overnight
DeleteEverything is muffled
The first snow is always magical and beautiful. Be glad you and Bluebell could stay home!
