It’s been a day of catching up with Flower Show jobs.
I’m chasing up with previous winners who have not returned their cups and already I’m 3 short.
I’ve washed and ironed my mother’s donated table clothes and bought ingredients to make cakes and entries for the cookery classes as well as build up a food hamper from scratch to support the raffle.
There is enough to do.
An old friend John, is in Llandudno this is week so we are meeting up for dinner tonight.
I’ve also heard from weaver who has eaten a bit better this week because of the positive influence of visitors . She’s been in touch with Rachel, who had shared Weaver’s best wishes around blogland which is nice too.
Good to hear about Weaver. She is a remarkable lady.
ReplyDeleteYou sound very busy with your preparations. I think I need to sit down after just thinking about it.
Glad Weaver is feeling a little better. Do you ever stop, John? Wears me out just reading about all you do. How are the twins doing. Any more interactions with the Welsh? xx
ReplyDeleteA view from the door, eating their dinner
DeleteThe Flower Show always brings lots to do but also so much fun for all. Enjoy your meet-up tonight.
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to see John
DeleteThe Flower Show is always so busy and fun, it's wonderful you have revived it.
ReplyDeleteI love that you still make the effort to use your mother's tablecloths, and that you have this wonderful tactile gift and memory of her. I wonder what happened to the bunting someone made one year? It was so pretty and festive.
I miss our Laura Ashley type bunting
DeleteIt went missing after loaning it to another show
Glad Pat is feeling better. Thanks for the update. - Jackie

DeleteOne of these days I want to visit Wales and go to the flower show. Thanks for the Weaver update. Glad she is feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteAnd you’d be very welcome, we have had several blog readers notably Sue who entered and Won several classes
DeleteYes, I too need a sit down after reading how much you do...scooch over a bit won't you JayCee? I'll share my blankie.
ReplyDeleteScotch up some more I need to rest
DeletePlenty oh room,my dearest, I will take the floor if needs be...then my covering could be Welsh and kitties.
DeleteI am delighted to hear that Weaver is still with us and that she's enjoyed some good food with friends. This update is appreciated!
ReplyDeleteWell done in tracking down most of the winner's cups for the flower show and good luck in finding the last 3.
Your planned cake and other goodies sound delicious and hope they turn out perfectly on the day.
Hope all is well with the twins and their Welsh big sister and brother.
Hugs!
Always supportive babs much appreciated
DeleteEven from across the ocean, I'm getting excited for this year's Trelawnyd Flower Show!
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy, busy. Seems like everyone is busy but me.
ReplyDeleteBet you are secretly
DeleteI may be visiting Wales shortly with my dogs - If I see you I shall wave - It's ok John you shall hear us approaching well in the distance and over the hills - so you will have time to hide x🌄
ReplyDeleteI just adore this comment!
Deletewoof
I will always say hi, but may be busy on the flower show day
DeleteWell said John - take the hint flis.
DeleteIt is reassuring that you and Rachel keep in touch with Weaver, and that she is a little better.
ReplyDeleteShe knows many of us in blogland
DeleteBusy, busy, busy as ever. I hope you find the missing cups... that would be quite stressful trying to track them down. I think there is nothing quite like a village show, we have our A & P show's here which is Agricultural and Pastoral... much the same but think more tractors and livestock on show, plus shearing and herding shows. Great fun. There are also the shed where photography is shown and cakes and slices shown off and also a veg show for certificates. Just bigger scale. Glad to hear that Weaver has managed to eat this week and is a little stronger.
ReplyDeleteI know I will be exhausted by Saturday evening
DeleteGood news about Pat. Glad she is comfortable and getting visitors. Your Flower Show sounds like such fun, John. Hope all goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen xx
DeleteDespite being busy, it sounds like a sweet day.
ReplyDeleteI need a long sleep my friend I’m too old for all this, my stamina is dwindling
DeleteWell, if you need company, you can find me sleeping just about any time lately!
DeleteThanks for the update on Weaver.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are going to busy with the flower show.
It will be a mad house come Friday
DeleteI'm hoping Weave is still managing the odd Kit Kat. They obviously have hidden powers.
ReplyDeleteI adore a white kitkat
DeleteNever seen one in white chocolate. Many, many years ago I bought a Kit Kat that turned out to not have any wafer in it. I wrote, tongue in cheek, to complain, (sending part of a finger as proof), and received a box of at least a dozen various bars of cholocate as compensation!!

DeleteGood to hear about Weaver.
ReplyDeleteThe flower show will be perfect, just you see xx
Hoping for pictures from the flower show (and of course critter pictures are always welcome!). You know, in your spare time!
ReplyDeleteCeci
A friend would take her frail mother Stout, probably Guinness ? apparently full of vitamins and good nutrition.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good news
ReplyDeleteabout Weaver (Pat),
I hope you manage to get some serious rest soon.
You do us all a favor by
taking care of yourself,

Take care! Sounds very busy! Kathy
ReplyDeleteThere is so much hard work put in behind the scenes of any village fete. And commitment of time too. But worth it for the pleasure of getting together and having fun.
