Our Beach

I’ve circled Trelawnyd and Colwyn Bay

We got up early, around 8 am,and drove to Colwyn Bay beach. The Promenade there is wide and clean and pleasant to walk on  and on a Sunday in fine weather , the place feels every European , what with the promenaders, wild swimmers and get fit enthusiasts, all looking busy. This morning we had prayer groups on the beach and several Male  show offs with their own portable sauna, Jogged back and forth from sea to heat.
We walked to Parasellas’ where I bought 2 sausage baps and a coffee. The Welsh sat on their own seats at the outside table and we shared breakfast, which was fun.

We ambled back along the Promenade to Porth Eirias and I had another coffee next to the “sculpture” of the cormorant as the Welsh watched a posturing standard poodle nearby.
It was heading for eleven when we all returned to Bluebell and the car park was already full to bursting.

And it was time for home

  1. That sounds like the perfect start to an April Sunday morning for you and the Welsh's. We had breakfast at Booths, bacon bun for Alan and toasted teacake for me, they delivered two to our table by accident but told us to keep them. I also picked up my free Booths slice of birthday cake ... which Alan promptly ate immediately after his bacon bun. (I couldn't eat it as it wasn't dairy-free ... he didn't steal it!!) A very good start to our Sunday morning too. I wish it was a bit warmer.

We had a nice early walk with our motley crew in local woods that are now full of bluebells, I made bacon butties when we got back and I always save a bit of mine for the dogs. Breakfast with your Welsh duo by the sea sounds lovely.

    2. Coping ok. Keeping quietly busy and careful not to overdo it. Carrying on with sorting stuff that we started together years ago... thankfully I am not starting from scratch..that would have been a nightmare! Missing someone to snuggle up to

Sounds to me like a perfect start to a Sunday in April. Our April on this side of the world was bloody wet but not windy which was good. Too wet for a beach sit down and there is nothing ''on'' our beaches apart from sand and sea and the occasional changing block and toilet. No real promenades and the "cafes" are well set back in the adjacent shops all a bit different experience here but just as pleasant.

Sounds like a perfect morning. My MIL recommended the Michael Portillo train journey programmes to us and like a pair of old fogeys we lay in bed and watched one last night. Part of it was about Colwyn Bay beach and how it was built up. What a brilliant idea. Sarah x
