Friday Observations

It’s Friday and it’s trying to be sunny. The Welsh are quiet today after their walk and Roger is sat in my bedroom window watching the grave digger and village Elder Islwyn dig a grave for a lady on Erw Wen I've never met.
I had a tutorial with my senior tutor , she says I’m doing fine, even my academic work ( which I find a challenge) she says is fine . “I like how you write “ she said , which meant a great deal

Anyhow, the village coffee morning needs helpers tomorrow but as usual I’m working.
I’m not complaining, weekend work means more money and bills seemed to have shot up this month.
At least Flintshire County Council is not bankrupt but their monthly bill rise is a real shocker.
I’ve had to pay for Dorothy’s cremation too. The ground had been overly saturated to bury her.
I didn’t have the energy to do it myself.

I have some wriggle room but I will need to book a few extra shifts in April and May as my nephew Leo is coming up for a visit ( his first alone) and I’ve got London trips to see Nu (theatre and the Hampton Court Flower Show) and with Janet to see A Chorus Line at Saddler’s Wells and Buckingham Palace.
Sheffield too is calling me back home as it has a want to do , so I’ll message Mike for a date to meet up
I see that old showboat drag queen Myra DuBois is playing the Ledmill
I’d love to get to visit the place one last time…….

Roger is barking his what the hell is going on bark
The mini gravedigger has obviously overfaced him and I’m finishing my coffee before I wash my face and brush my hair in order to meet my family for lunch at the Dinorban

I will leave you with the lovely lisping Spanish Choir

Enjoy

  2. It's good when we can understand what our dogs are saying by the tone of their bark. Elsie got a new bark, in our new house, barking up at the night sky (lifting both front paws off the ground at the same time). I've been told by the neighbours that she's probably barking at bats, although I haven't seen any yet. Have a lovely lunch. xx

Its nice that your course is going so well, and that your tutor likes the way you write, we all knew that already. Lots of plans in the works too. Lucky you. Just another day of nothing and nobody here. My dog is going in to the Vets for dental surgery and her pre op blood tests showed that she might have something with a kidney so i have to take her back today to get a urine test to see if she has an infection. Always something. Gigi

How lovely and heartwarming to have your senior tutor compliment your writing!! We've said the same over the years, but our compliments don't carry any achedemic weight!

Love the plans you have, both near and far and with both family and friends. That should keep you perking along.
Ta for the choir, too, as they ar4e a joy.

I have a potato cake breakfast casserole in the oven and the timer s about to ring.

    Hugs!

  10. I hope you had a good lunch at "The Dinorben Arms" in the bosom of your family. There's always something in "The Gray Diary" which is possibly a sequel to "Fifty Shades of Gray"...
“Are you smirking at me, Mr. Gray?” I ask sweetly.

A bit of decent feedback gives you a lift and makes it all worth while... everyone needs a bit of validation and encouragement to keep moving in the right direction. The Pub looks charming enjoy your meal with the family as gz above says no cooking or clearing up to get in the way of a good old chinwag catch up.

The video is boss. I love the violins when they come thundering in and I get the lisping now ( not understanding the reference before)

  18. It's a LONG time since I was at the Dinorben, probably around 1979 was my last visit there.
At that time, they did an 'All you can eat' buffet.
My last meal there was with Mum & Dad, and I ate until I was fit to burst. After all these years the only thing I remember clearly, is having four portions of dessert, a very rich chocolate soufflé which I more or less drowned in double cream!
Halfway back home I started to feel awfully queasy, and was warned by Dad that if I threw up in his car, I'd be cleaning it for the rest of time. Needless to say, I used 'mind over matter' and kept my delicious lunch down!
Husband and I will have to take a drive out there sometime, for old time's sake!
    X

  21. You live a rich life. Nice to know what your tutor has to say — and no surprise. I’m so pleased with how well school is going. It’s fascinating how aware you are of the lisping. I realize I don’t even think about in anymore. It’s simply like another letter
