Wonderful grace under pressure. The Royal press office have been utterly useless in dealing with all the family illness lately (not surprising, they have always been a nightmare to try and deal with) and I hope Kate's video will do something to stop all this trolling and ridiculous conspiracy theories that have gone unchecked. And I hope she gets better soon; I am a cancer survivor, and hope to God she is too.

I never gave up hope on my husband when he was diagnosed , treated , the treatment killed him.
I wish all the best to her and her family.
I wish all the stories turned out like fairytales with wonderful happy endings. Beth (Gemma's Person)
I hope her story ends happily ever after.

Thank you for posting this John . I thought Catherine spoke so well, and clearly is focusing on her children - my Mother died from breast cancer in 1973 when I was 8 - it’s so hard particularly when you have children
I hope she recovers but she’s so young and it’s such a shock at any age

  9. Bloody hell. Poor woman. It's hard enough having cancer but so much worse having to go through it in public. Good on her for sharing it and giving others hope.

  10. Im a bit off topic but I don't understand how it's come to this point where she needs to announce a diagnosis.
We were told she'd be out of action until Easter and it's not even Easter yet.
I wish her the best. They all have a tough load to carry

The Easter announcement related to the initial surgery. It was only after standard tests following that revealed the cancer, and therefore her personal update. Cancer treatment leads to other side effects, including chronic exhaustion. This will need continuing assessment and reassessment of her "sick leave" and so cannot currently be estimated or predicted, and will extend her time away from public view.

    2. Yes I wasn't clear. Right up to the announcement her behaviour was what we'd been told to expect so the crazy speculation had no logic.
Now the goalposts have shifted but she shouldn't have had to address it yet

    3. I guess speculation of William having an affair, the silly nonsense about the photo, body doubles got to be a bit too much. The night before TMZ had a one hour special title "Where is Kate?". I guess the creeps.got their answer: she is battling cancer and protecting her family.

I hope she gets a break. They've had an awful time of it. Cancer is tough enough on a family without being hounded by the press.

We wish the best for Kate. Hope the British press will just lay off and give Kate time to heal. They should be disgusted with themselves! I felt so sorry that she should have to sit there and explain her situation. It is her business, no one else's. Gigi

  15. I know she will come out and do well, but the media and press is relentless with her. And they probably won't give up till they know the kind of cancer. I say let her and her family alone in their business. Our evening news here was nothing but fear, prying questions, and noisiness, and took a good 9 minutes of a half news show. Let the princess have her privacy I say. And that news trumped all other news.

  16. It does seem the British press has not changed a bit, since the vultures destroyed Diana. Harry certainly has had his problems with the press and although he may not be entirely blameless for his problems, the unrestrained ramblings and pursuits of the yellow press certainly has played a big part in all of that also. I wish Princess Catherine the very best of care, the least of worries, and a complete recovery.

  21. I thought she was dignified and honest. I choose not to read the gutter press about the Royal Family - I'm not particularly a monarchist, but I object to their relentless rubbish. Neither do I but Women's magazines with a Royal splashed all over the cover. Not going there. Full stop.

I thought your kitchen looked superb John. Clean, quirky art, well designed and comfortable, and comfortable. I can imagine you there with the dogs all over you.

And Big Congratulations on passing the next step in your course. Of course, we knew you would!!

How sad to have this worrisome diagnosis so e early in her life and while her children are so young. wishing her - and all patients - well, good doctors, helpful treatment protocols, an supportive families and friends.

    What Grace, too.

Worst thing ever….having young children and getting cancer. Been there and hope and pray she has a complete recovery. To do it all with everyone in your business would be terrible! Ugh. She is total class! Kathy.

  25. I feel so bad for Catherine and her family. What a nightmare, and with young children and the relentless prying of the media.

I hope that shuts off all the speculation about Kate. All the best to her in her healing journey. What a strain on William with his wife and father both going through cancer treatment.

Catherine has my best wishes - the gutter press are disgraceful but I have to say that absolutely everyone in the media has been disgraceful over the whole thing. Leave her and her family - and the King too - to concentrate on recovery not be hounded by folk who should know better.

People on “alternative media” far worse than the gutter press unfortunately. At least the gutter press is somewhat regulated. People can, and do, say all sorts of garbage on social media and blogs.

  31. The speculation and media intrusion has been disgraceful. I wish her well. She was so calm and dignified in her interview. I hope she and her family get the respect and time they need to deal with this. Sad for her children and tough for William.

  32. She is an amazing, woman, wife and mother, juggling all her roles, she does it with so much style, as for the internet and media, I just shake my head, do they not learn lessons from the past.

  34. I had a lump in my throat listening to Kate. She is so brave and graceful and has been treated so badly by the press. I hope she is left alone now and has time to recover. It's so sad at such a young age and with young children. My heart goes out to her and her family.

  36. She was absolutely word perfect and a lot nicer and politer than I would have been in her position. Grace personified.
She has put up with so much disgraceful behaviour, speculation and accusations all over social media, including on the royal families own Instagram channels, it's been disgusting to read.

So, so brave, and will make a wonderful future queen, fingers crossed.
I believe there are studies linking cancer with stress, and our RF have been through so much in the last three or four years, I feel it’s no coincidence. Some people should be ashamed.

  40. Yes, I'm glad she came forward and stilled the gossipy wags (more or less).

    ReplyDelete
  41. It’s a shame that she had to go public with something that most people would want to deal with privately.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the video will stop the people who haven’t seen a conspiracy theory they didn’t like. People are already saying on Twitter that the cancer was caused by the COVID vaccination. Is it a coincidence that the King, Catherine and Sarah have all been diagnosed with cancer, these people ask. The answer of course is YES. People don’t seem to understand if B happened after A, this does not mean that A was at all relevant.

They are 3 of the large Royal Family, as statistics show that 1 in 2 of the population will have cancer in their lifetime of course it is a coincidence, as you say.
