6 am Christmas Eve……..bucket of coffee between cold hands.
Last night I watched a schmaltzy Swedish movie, until late
The Christmas Cards reached 80 % the. Circumference of the living room
Almost there. I will wait until tomorrow to see if my old tradition finally materialises
A minor obsession admittedly, but suddenly ,and strangely an important one this morning
As I leave the cottage ,I spy a small chocolate Santa , standing on the Kitchen wall
He’s sheltering under a bit of bent cardboard
Mrs Trellis has been at work
Have a wonderful Christmas John. Sounds like a nice way to wake up. Been up a while myself, and feel so blessed amid some trouble. Chocolate Santas are ALWAYS good. I have to start at the feet. Sure a psychiatrist would make something of that!
ReplyDeleteDarn, I should have sent you a giant sized Christmas card to fill the last space.
ReplyDeleteDear Mrs Trellis, never fails to delight! Happy Christmas, John. xx
ReplyDeleteA Happy Yuletide to you John.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the calm of the day. Christmas Eve is always my favorite day of the season. Coffee here and my stollen made yesterday. Easy day, filled with music, and relaxing.
Good for Mrs Trellis! Everyone should have a Mrs Trellis - the Ghost of Christmas Present AND Future, all wrapped up in a chocolate Santa. I love it...are chocolate Santas the same psychological profiling problem as jelly babies? The bit of anatomy you bite off first says so much about you? Oooh, that's scary!
ReplyDeleteGreat news about the Christmas cards in the face of their apparent dying popularity...mine is also helping grow your conga line around the room. That's Christmas for you! Take a deep breath, force your shoulders down from around your ears, sit back and enjoy, however you can and do. God bless you and yours, and every one of our friends in Going Gently land. Thank you all for our John Gray inspired sense of fun and community and. most of all, old fashioned camaraderie. And onwards to 2024 one and all.
Merry Christmas John x
ReplyDeleteEven Santa has to shelter from the rain! Mrs Trellis is fun.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very happy and peaceful Christmas John.
No card from me this year John. Sorry but I can no longer manage Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIt is surprising that Mrs Trellis didn't weave the cardboard Santa shelter into a trellised one. I agree with Yorkshire Liz - everyone should have a Mrs Trellis.
ReplyDeleteFinding a chocolate Santa sheltering in your garden is kind of magical. Well done, Mrs. Trellis. Merry Christmas, John. x
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful holiday John. Merry Christmas, pleasant and good.
ReplyDeleteYour world is filled with little delights. I love that about Trelawynd.

Wishing you a peaceful and happy Christmas John ... and maybe another surprise from Mrs Trellis lurking in another corner. I sat down in front of the television last night and somehow watched the whole of Paddington ... as daft as it was I needed that.

ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, dear John, and to all the others in this Going Gently village. I see I am not the only one who would have liked to have had your address. XO
ReplyDeleteHear hear, my good wishes to all. As for an address I’m sure Johns postie would cope with just his name and the name of the village, north Wales. I seem to remember lots of post cards addressed like that arriving in the past.
DeleteThank you, SueJay
DeletePlease wish Mrs. Trellis a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
ReplyDeleteThe very, very best of holiday wishes to you, John dear.
It's been a few weeks since I had time to read blogs properly until now. I too want to say Happy Christmas to you! I am glad you are here and part of the blogging community. You are a fortunate fellow to have so many who love you.
ReplyDeleteNot long got home

Merry Christmas to you John and all of your four legged beasties and all the wonderful people in you lovely town.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas ! I adore Mrs Trellis Lovely friends.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, John.
ReplyDeleteWe finished watching Maestro on Netflix. I think Carey Mulligan should win an Oscar. Bradley Cooper was good and will be nominated but his performance may have been overwrought. And he may get a nom for Best Director and the movie for Best but I don't think either will win.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas! Kathy near Chicago
