After Babet

I hardly slept last night, but finally after 5 am I eventually heard that sinus click in my head which told me my virus had turned and the badness was now streaming and the mucus loose.
My headache is gone and the weeks morbid fascination with feeling unwell is passing.
I opened my bedroom windows wide and washed the bedclothes
Babet has left behind a sunny morning which has aired the cottage from last weeks miasma
I made strong coffee in the Mokka, hung the duvet on the field gate and watched the view of the hills Cefn Du and Moel Maenefa to the south East after I had washed the floorboards and poured the coffee sweetened by honey into my usual bucket cup,

It sounds dramatic, but it feels that illness has left the cottage

I am always surprised to see the casements of your windows which open backwards (for me), that is to say towards the outside. Catherine from …France.

Ah! Sorry but I forgot: what a beautiful view! Nature and Harmony in harmony with the music or vice versa.

No I do not think you are being dramatic. Illness has its natural, physical depression that you’ve captured the fight with very well. My father insisted on the bedclothes of a sick child to be boiled on their recovery and once the whole house was surrounded by sheets when we all went down with flu in the Hong Kong outbreak 1969

The view from your bedroom is delightful

Glad the fiend of a cold/flu has gone. Lovely view from your window. Have you contemplated getting a kitten for a playmate for the dogs or would Dorothy be consumed with jealousy?

This post is so soothing. I plan to revisit it again later. Happy to read you feel better. I agree with you about airing things out. Mine is the only house on this street that opens windows. Take care. Jackie

  11. What a relief to read this. Yes, after a virus I always wash the bed clothes and towels and all I had on, to exorcise the bug! Here's hoping you'll be completely well now, but please don't rush to catch up what you missed.

  18. So glad to hear you're better. It's good that the weather is nice enough to open the windows and let the fresh air in and the bug-laden air out! As others have said, though, don't overdo it. Take things easy for a day or two. xx

I became quite tearful looking at your wonderful view, I thought Wales as being more rugged and full of slate and your rolling hill view looks more ENGLISH
Physically it’s sounded as though you were very low, almost burnt out

Rest today with your view and your doggos

  20. So glad to hear you're feeling so much better! And the view from your bedroom is wonderful! I love throwing open the windows to air out the house, especially after not feeling well. Pace yourself and don't overdo. Continue to be kind to yourself, hydrate, nourish your body & spirit, and rest when your body says to do so.
