As we turned at the end of the lane
There it was
A magnificent rainbow over Trelawnyd
I stopped looking at it for an age , and Roger searched the sky to see what I was gazing at
He sat down to ponder
I’ve had shitty days
Many over the last few years
But there’s always a rainbow
Waiting in the wings …..
In the shape of a friendly text, a jar of jam, a box of soup
A kind word
And a bunch of flowers
The real Rainbow was the icing on the cake
Always look on the bright side of life...
ReplyDeleteWe sometimes have to look hard, but the rainbows are there. xx
They are indeed
DeleteHow encouraging. If we can make it through the dark periods, there is light and, even better, a rainbow to keep us going.
ReplyDeletePlod along and keep on swimming
DeleteRainbows and hugs to a man who consistently brings smiles and joy to my life.
ReplyDeleteSweet…thank u
DeleteA little more Mary Oliver for you John - last lines in particular Jane x
ReplyDeleteYou do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting -
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
Yes..a lovely message . Thank u
DeleteJust beautiful, and well done for stopping and staring.

Medical question, no reply needed, just some information that may be relevant. I had two incidents similar to yours some years ago and in each case it was concluded over-medication was the cause - in one case a drug for prostate/bladder issues (I forget the name), in the other case treatment for high blood pressure that "worked" too well. I wonder if you are on either of these. Good wishes, (Andrew S.)
ReplyDeleteI suspect it was a second “ attack” of a vasovagal moment you may recall I had at work two years ago, where I fainted into my lunch
DeleteThank you Andrew
DeleteCiprofloxacin, is the one I took and passed out cold, after one tablet. Broke all three bones in my right ankle.
DeleteHi Brit in Tennessee, this brought back memories for me. I was given Ciprofloxacin in hospital after a small routine operation, no real reason for giving it, just as a precaution against getting an infection after surgery. I was expected to be in hospital for two days, operation one day, home the next, but the ciprofloxacin affected me almost immediately, ending up with my liver function being affected and a two week stay in hospital having transfusions. Never felt so ill in my life. A dreadful drug and it's now marked on my medical records that I'm not to have it again.
DeleteI've heard many horror stories of similar accounts. It's on my NO GO list too.
DeleteJust caught up with your blog John. Sorry to hear you had such a horrid experience. Keep looking for those rainbows. B
ReplyDeleteYour snowglobe is another important loss for you that youve played down amid the drama . Every christmas you always post a beautiful l photo of it back lit with fairy lights.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the story of the snowglobe?

May there always be rainbows in our lives.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful rainbow to give you hope for another day. Stay on top of it, John.
ReplyDeleteThat rainbow was made just for you.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow is a beautiful sight and it could have not come at a better time. Hold that thought.
ReplyDeleteOh what a gift! And the timing could not have been better.
ReplyDeleteThat is a mighty rainbow, John.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo. Jackie
ReplyDeleteA good ending for a tough time.
ReplyDeleteThank you. 🙏 one word is all it took.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow is just for you who chose to take a walk with Roger and to look up at just the right time. How perfectly wonderful, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
In France we often had circular rainbows around the sun itself. I suppose it was just moisture in the air that did the work. It was quite beautiful. I've never seen the same thing here.
ReplyDeleteOnce after the break up of a disastrous relationship and facing major life changes, I saw a wonderful rainbow. Stopping and leaning on the field gate, I was suddenly filled with hope for the future and joy. Thank goodness for the beauty of nature and the kindness of family and friends.
ReplyDeleteIt's a big sign from the universe that there is always hope and good things are going to happen.
ReplyDeletePoetic inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and a magical moment that you truly needed. xx
