A House Of Colour and Light

Gaudi’s house , Casa Batllò was a beautiful and humbling experience. At times through the audio guide I felt father emotional listening to the thoughts of the home by the Batllò’s daughter.
A house of colour and light “ she described it.

A mooch through the Mercado de la Boqueria The Gothic Quarter,,
Chocolate churros, mexican bomb patas, The Ramblas,
Fucking knackered

This morning a leisurely swim (natural pond, wild swimming, the ducks join in) then breakfast. Mucked out the horses then a light lunch. A siesta this afternoon and then a bit of computer work (dreaded taxes!) now a glass of wine on the verandah. In to eat dinner soon, prepared by someone else then watch the highlights of wimbledon then an early night. All in all it's turning out to be a good day.

  3. Gaudi's house is on my bucket list. It looks spectacular. Colour and light indeed. Sounds like you'll need a holiday to get over your holiday! xx

  4. I've browsed through YouTubes and pictures of Gaudi's Case Mila, the apartment building he designed, several times, tried to imagine what it would be like to live in such a place. Probably not all that practical, but it would be fun to try!

  7. Is the extreme heat getting to you? I understand Spain is one of the hot spots of Europe right now. Plus you look a little sunburned?

I love to see all the yummy food! Friends going to Norway soon and it's hard to anticipate their menus but perhaps that is my ignorance of Norwegian food. Meanwhile, churros for the win!

  19. It all looks fabulous. The house is like something from a fairy tale, very pretty. Those lane ways looks very inviting; especially the ones leading to the markets and where they sell the cut and cured meats. Love me some Jamon Serrano and a glass of white! I am living vicariously through you.... where to next?

  23. 'Street corner' Churros (as in your final pic) are one of the great delights of Spain. As an early morning snack with coffee they are unbeatable.
