Gaudi’s house ,
Casa Batllò was a beautiful and humbling experience. At times through the audio guide I felt father emotional listening to the thoughts of the home by the
Batllò’s daughter.
“ A house of colour and light “ she described it.
A mooch through the
Mercado de la Boqueria The Gothic Quarter,, Chocolate churros, mexican bomb patas, The Ramblas,
Fucking knackered
How thrilling! Some food and a grotty alleyway.
ReplyDeleteBetter answer and what are you doing at this moment where you comment on a hated blog?
DeleteI’m sipping a lovely beer overlooking the roofs of Barcelona at dusk
That’s telling the twat John
DeleteThis morning a leisurely swim (natural pond, wild swimming, the ducks join in) then breakfast. Mucked out the horses then a light lunch. A siesta this afternoon and then a bit of computer work (dreaded taxes!) now a glass of wine on the verandah. In to eat dinner soon, prepared by someone else then watch the highlights of wimbledon then an early night. All in all it's turning out to be a good day.
DeleteLooks enchanting John - your friend Jane has a pretty face by the way - and do you think a spicy chorizo may pep you up x
ReplyDeleteGaudi's house is on my bucket list. It looks spectacular. Colour and light indeed. Sounds like you'll need a holiday to get over your holiday! xx
ReplyDeleteI've browsed through YouTubes and pictures of Gaudi's Case Mila, the apartment building he designed, several times, tried to imagine what it would be like to live in such a place. Probably not all that practical, but it would be fun to try!
ReplyDeleteKnackered is good, you are seeing so much! I love grazing at the mercados, trying weird and wonderful things, so fun. Love your photos. GG

ReplyDeleteI love to see all the yummy food! Friends going to Norway soon and it's hard to anticipate their menus but perhaps that is my ignorance of Norwegian food. Meanwhile, churros for the win!

It all looks fabulous. The house is like something from a fairy tale, very pretty. Those lane ways looks very inviting; especially the ones leading to the markets and where they sell the cut and cured meats. Love me some Jamon Serrano and a glass of white! I am living vicariously through you.... where to next?
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland

'Street corner' Churros (as in your final pic) are one of the great delights of Spain. As an early morning snack with coffee they are unbeatable.

ReplyDeleteHugs!
Love that funky third down picture!
ReplyDeleteYou look as though you are having a whale of a time :) so lovely to see your pictures. I love Guadi's architectural gusto, but have only ever seen pictures. One day though! Sharon x
ReplyDeleteI love it all! Wish I was there!
ReplyDeleteJust love churros! Never taste the same in the UK as in Spain.
ReplyDeleteGaudi's colour and light are almost dream like for me. Definitely "food for the soul"
