It’s a lazy blog today thanks to Ali who requested I share more of my odd bits so to speak.
It’s a beautiful day and the garden and planters need watering .
The shooting range in nearby Trelogan sounds busy but the putput of the shotguns are muffled by the circle of hills to the west and are not too invasive.
I’m going to a family barbecue later which will be lovely
My wolf and Badge salt and pepper shakers standing guard over my homemade letter rack
My gargoyle of course
My obese camel
The first thing I made in pottery my horse
My little homage to Gormley’s terracotta crowd
Blogger Gayle’s sketch on wrapping paper framed
My bathroom puffin
My 2£ tetradactyl plate
My 5£ plastic toucan
Bearded man with a big cock
My carved eagle, a gift from villager Colin Endres before he died
What a wonderfully eclectic collection.
ReplyDeleteHow clean all is! Puts this one to shame. I myself don't have a single ornament anywhere- and no pictures on the walls. Ah, but what I DO have is lots of webs. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd lots of cats Raymondo
DeleteMust confess that the live pussycats do kill the desire for anything else 'decorative' - though not in your own case regarding dogs, I note.
DeleteI have a ‘flasher’ doll with big cock complete with hair and a brown raincoat, purchased in some port along the English channel as we sailed past. My dog got hold of it and took off its eyes so I must glue them back on.. I love your horse, you are very talented..and “the plain black phone” that is what lured me into my husbands boat for the first time. I didn’t believe that you could have a landline on a boat that was docked, and he told me I could use it to call home. This was way before cell phones. You have the eye for decorating I wish I had John.xxGG
ReplyDeleteThank you deArheart x
DeleteDo/would you wear hand knitted socks. I don’t have a blog, not so good at writing but I knit up a storm and would love to show appreciation for the joy your blog has given me over the years xx
ReplyDeleteI adore hand knitted socks
DeleteWhat size feet are you?
Delete10
DeleteConsider it done! Would you like me to knit a sock for your cock too? What size is it? xx
DeleteThat wasn’t me. ( the sock knitter). That was another person!
DeleteI gathered that
DeleteLove your collection, especially the horse.

I was very proud of my horse, I wanted him to look like one in the terracotta army
DeleteThe little things that bring you happiness, help to define you.
ReplyDeleteThat are only important to you
DeleteAs a rapper from Compton L.A. might say, "You got some weird shit man!"
ReplyDeleteYou will never know lol
DeleteAll very quirky and all very you! xx
ReplyDeleteI never think of myself as quirky
DeleteThanks for sharing your odd bits {giggle} they’re lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome
DeleteI love your entire collection and would be happy with any of those items at our house. We have similar taste in art I think.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to see your bits and bobs
DeleteThey are all wonderful, but the horse you made is the winner for me, closely followed by the salt and pepper shakers. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I was very proud of that horse
DeleteEach one tells a story - lovely x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
And several of them , very long stories
DeleteYour collection is wonderfully YOU! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Eclectic and delightful, all of them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful collection and it's delightful that you have them scattered throughout your home. A bit of whimsy to cheer and lift one's spirit. Thanks ever so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLike Going Gently
DeleteA bit of whimsy
You have some odd bits like I do. I think my favorite is the camel though he is just adorable. But what's not to love about a man with a big cock? Xoxo
ReplyDeleteAmen
DeleteCollections make our homes warm and comfortable. There is usually a story with each item making them more special. You have a nice assortment.
ReplyDeleteThank u
DeleteMy Cerne clock has the giants phallus rotating - My aunt said it was disgusting - but I enjoy an interesting variety in my life - My dogs are also x 🐴

DeleteLove the fat pony….or as you now call him a horse.
ReplyDeleteHow’s the chess set thinking coming along…want to see the wombats!
I haven’t been to pottery class for ages….another to do thing x
DeleteI love the fat camel. I remember Gayle's sketch from when you first received it. So cool.
ReplyDeleteIt was over 8 years ago now
DeleteA lovely varied collection
ReplyDeletePraise indeed xx
DeleteOh what a pack of character pieces you have there. LOVE the puffin, and the pieces you made, which have such character. The salt and pepper shakers are brill too, and everything's so quirky and GOOD.
ReplyDeleteI’ve always thought of puffins as cartoon, comic looking birds …
DeleteI love all your special little friends; but wouldn't they be a psychologists dream? Through The Keyhole? Your bearded friend with the big cock resounds through history; a little known pagan character adopted by the church, and called a woodwose. Often seen in East Anglican church architecture. A favourite of mine. But all to be rescued in case of fire!
ReplyDeleteI’m sure a psychologist would have a field day x
DeleteThat's a terrific collection, John! Love the all!
ReplyDeleteTa muchly
DeleteI love all of your odd bits, especially your fat pony !
ReplyDeleteYou have an artist's eye.

Yep the horse is my favorite too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the terra cotta fellows.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely collection of art!
ReplyDeleteI keep getting rid of little statues and things because they serve no purpose and I have too much clutter. Maybe I don't have anything I love enough
I’ve done that recently too
