I saw my birthday dinosaur on Facebook ( link below)
And he intrigued me so much , that I had to buy him.
Judy who made him, kindly sold me him at friends rates as she likes Going Gently
I was asked if I would post more photos of him
So here he is
Nu’s homemade daisy fruit bowl on my bedroom drawers, my stone family figures on the kitchen art wall
Funny what pleases eh?
I love him. He's fun!
ReplyDeleteYes…like me! Okok not lol
DeleteHe looks a friendly dinosaur! I love it when people have quirky things in their house and garden. Shows their personality. Yours says fun-loving, doesn't take himself too seriously, sense of humour, an individual with taste! xx
ReplyDeleteYou are a wise woman HH
DeleteAre you sure it's a 'he' ? It might be an Alberta or Albertine...;)
ReplyDeleteI’ve looked underneath
DeleteHis 'smile' betrays a playful mood.
ReplyDeleteYes I thought he was smiling
DeleteLovely colours.
ReplyDeleteI especially adore his pink red feet
DeleteNot sure I could cope withhim John - he has quite a scary look. But I do agree with the idea of having things dotted around - with me it is reminders of places I have been. I have a little brown bowl I bought in Samarkand - I dropped it some years ago and broke it into ten pieces. I glued it together badly but I still love it dearly. It will certainly die with me.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to be buried with your treasures? Like an Egyptian Queen ?
DeleteJudy's got a lot of talent. So charming and playful, and a beautiful glaze. I love these kinds of things.
ReplyDeleteHe’s heavy and must have been difficult to fire
DeleteHe’s gorgeous and I think Judy might get some more sales! Happy birthday for yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThat’s why I added the link , I hope some blog readers may have bought something
DeleteThat’s why I added the link , I hope some blog readers may have bought something
DeleteNo prices on the website which indicates beyond my budget.
DeleteHe's gorgeous - I have what I thought resin but now become quite real lizard close to my back door x
ReplyDeleteA wild lizard?
DeleteI love him! I think he's very you :-) I do love seeing people's homes filled with things that are unique or quirky and simply spark joy. I'd rather support an independent artist than a multi million pound store industry any day!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact he’s a one off
DeleteI think Albert is a very handsome beast and reflective of you (flirt flirt). I did visit her site and she has a wonderful winged draggon with a lovely red hat on that I hope to buy when I have some of that stuff called expendible cash. Hope you had a wonderful birthday and are now feeling a part of the over 60 group and the joy that aging can actually be. Love and hugs my friend.
ReplyDeleteFlirt away deArheart
DeleteI hope that dinosaur does not come to life while you are sleeping. I can imagine him coming up the stairs with his tongue flickering, looking for meat, attracted by the rhythmical light snoring of a 61 year old male blogger.
ReplyDeleteHeavy sleep apnoea snoring
DeleteAn enormous hump eh?
ReplyDeleteIt’s been a while
DeleteHorrible!
ReplyDeleteLol
DeleteYour dinosaur has great personality and a wonderful side eye! So right at home with everyone in the cottage. (I am not a dinosaur fan, but he is lovely!)
ReplyDeleteHe’s sweet
DeleteWhy keep calling it a dinosaur - on the website it's clearly listed as a LIZARD
DeleteIt is indeed "funny what pleases". In contrast to your incredible and impressive collection of ornaments, pictures, plant pots indoors and out, cushions and many, many miscellaneous other what-nots, I enthusiastically embrace minimalism, but I do have on display around the house... two university mugs, a small world globe, and two pictures on two walls. Less dusting for me than you, I suppose? I do look at stuff in museums though. You should sell tickets to your one?
ReplyDeleteYou have things that please
DeleteSo do I
But tons more
I ran marathons in Arctic Bay N.W.T. A long time ago and always came home with a soapstone? carving. I love them all but have a friend who keeps telling me to sell them. I will never sell them because they are part of my comfort objects and a lot are quirky like me! Love your quirkies too. GG toronto
ReplyDeleteI have similar “ touchstones “ a stone from Sitges beach, a giant fir cone from the pond, , I could go on
DeleteMine were carved by the local Inuit, always better on the years when the hunting was poor!
DeleteYour dinosaur is lovely! Reminds me of my favorite critters in our local sculpture garden. Methinks he needs a name!
ReplyDeleteHe has one
DeleteHe is beautiful and quirky and looks at home with you.
ReplyDeleteA wise man once told me, surround yourself by things that make you happy, and don't worry about what others think.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice!
Deletei like him, he looks like he's smiling x
ReplyDeleteHe's gorgeous, I love his friendly expression and his lovely feet!! Now of course we need to see photos of the rest of the 'family'. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat face! He is adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove that dinosaur..what a character!
ReplyDeleteLooks more like a Monitor Lizard 🦎 then a dinosaur 🦕. I do like it!
ReplyDeleteCorrect Marcia! On Judy's website it is indeed listed as a Lizard.
Deleteisnt a dinosaur a lizard
DeleteI believe all of our cold blooded friends are amphibians x
DeleteAs usual flis your comment is nothing to do with either the post or previous comments.
DeleteOh yes it is 🐲
DeleteAnother thing you and I share in common- a love of rather quirky things that we put around our houses in unexpected places.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing the inside of your home, vintage and homely
DeleteMay I add John - My stone dinosaur who stands relatively close to my lizard have positioned themselves to guard me against the bogey man x
ReplyDeleteThank you for your card flis
DeleteYour taste in decor is quirky. These little surprises make me smile.
ReplyDeleteThey make me smile too , I guess it’s the child in me
DeleteSeems to me that your new dinosaur has turned his/her hear as if some called its name!
ReplyDeleteWe have Kermit and 3 Doozers (think Fraggle Rock).
It's all about what makes you happy.
Hugs!
Exactly , I like to be surrounded by things that please me
DeleteYes, sometimes you see something that catches your eye and you just go for it!
ReplyDeletePeople too xx
DeleteI like him, she does very nice work.
ReplyDeleteHe captured,y imagination
DeleteCertainly one of a kind, and how many people can say they have a birthday dinosaur?!
ReplyDeleteExactly …he also looks slightly misshapen and I always love an underdog
DeleteMagnificent!
ReplyDeleteI love the detail in his face: his little teeth. His little tongue. The expression on his face. He looks like a shy but mischievious sort. Hope he doesn't give you any trouble. :)
ReplyDeleteCan we see all your pottery ???
ReplyDeleteAli
What ever pleases should be your pleasure.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really groovy dino!
ReplyDeleteSeems to have a playful personality :)
ReplyDeleteGetting what pleases is what one is supposed to do on your birthday good for you !
