Another old friend returns,
The Trelawnyd Flower Show is reborn on August 5th.
And the schedules are out.
I’ve got much to do today.
Jackson’s Nurseries ( which lies a stone’s throw from the village) donated several planters to the TCA and I’ve picked three up this morning and have placed two either side of the Church gate and put the last one by the noticeboard.
I will personally deliver flower show schedules to the old flower show committee and to people who have already requested them.
I love the fact that inside the programme the TCA has honoured Auntie Glad
Glad to see that tradition return, it will be spectacular
ReplyDeleteWell I doubt that, given the hiatus in shows but it’s a new start x
DeleteThat's exciting news!
ReplyDeleteWell it sounds and is fun , always had been
DeleteIt's lovely that all those events that were on hold during Covid, are returning. How kind of the nursery to donate planters. True village spirit. Hoping for sunshine and lots of people with very deep pockets in attendance! xx
ReplyDeleteJohn there is no doubt - you are the village stalwart. What would they do without you?
ReplyDeleteThere’s plenty of new faces doing more for the village pat , the new TCA is full of characters more robust than I xx
DeleteShall you be attaching a flower to your new Venetian hat for the Flower Show John or adorning yourself with a posy x 💐🌻
ReplyDeleteI won’t but thank you for asking
DeleteThat's really good news for your community
ReplyDeleteIt’s reassuring that it’s back….I hope others will follow
Delete48th annual! What a lovely tradition, John.
ReplyDeleteAnd an important one Ellen
DeleteHurray!
ReplyDeleteWatch this space xx
DeleteYou should get Steve Reed up from London to be a flower show judge. That guy knows a lot about flowers. You could say that he's Florida's Alan Titchmarsh.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea xx
DeleteWhat a fabulous, she catching poster! Hope everyone rallies round and the show is a great success. Hard work but good fun. And a nice new thing after the allure of Venice.
ReplyDeleteI’m getting into the swing this afternoon
DeleteHow sweet it is! I'm happy for the community and you, John. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs!
It’s nice to have it back, and I love that inside the programme is a tribute to Aunty Gladys
DeletePerfect! I hope someone has her recipe for scones!
DeleteHugs!
We have a recipe and a category for the boiled fruit cake , that was one of her favourites too
DeleteYour community Flower Show has always been very popular and well attended. The tradition is important and much loved. The tribute to beloved Aunty Glad is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe world really is getting back to normal!
ReplyDeleteIt’s about time young Steve
DeleteGood news! I miss your online competition (fruit and vegetable constructions). Maybe I need to do one simply for my own amusement :)
ReplyDeleteI think that will return next year
DeleteYay! I hope so :)
DeleteDo you ever stop doing things John? Could you bottle some of your motivation and send it to me? I do nothing for much of the time, while still doing what is required, but I am not sure I could cope with your level of activity. I am currently drinking beer and looking out at the view to the hills. I will have a rest after that :)
ReplyDeleteI can be totally lazy Andrew, and I waste time like anyone else ….
DeleteI’m busy at home sometimes because I have no one to talk to
It’s an observation not a complaint xx
DeleteBeautiful. I feel like I knew Auntie Glad. I wish I had.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see Auntie Gladys' name in the programme, perhaps there could be a cup for the winner of the 'Best Scone' category in her name.
ReplyDeleteThe dedication to Auntie Gladys gave me a heartfelt tear. Gone but not forgotten...
