It was rather fine at lunchtime so helping to weed the pond wasn’t arduous or unpleasant
There was something rather nice working away alongside old friends and the space looked lovely when we had finished
Village leader Ian even saw a frog and As Nick brought the coffee , Bridget sorted out her “own” bara brith
I was so sore after the exertion …..shows my age lol
It's looking great.
ReplyDeleteI was knackered. Lol
DeleteYes, I did notice while the others were hard at work, you were hardly working.
DeleteI’d done a lot before hand cheeky cow
DeleteWhat a great asset for the village. Yes, as you get older, you start to notice hips, knees and backs! Still, all in a good cause. xx
ReplyDeleteGetting up from the sofa is a chore
DeleteMarvelous way to spend Earth Day! Hopefully you'll see tadpoles in the pond in the near future. A nice hot shower/bath before bed and you'll sleep well. Stay safe & well.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we see newts too
DeleteOh yes, newts, bank voles, butterflies, dragonflies & damselflies, and perhaps a heron or two!
DeleteHard work, but a fun time for a good cause.
ReplyDeleteIt feels good
DeleteWell done you workers and those who brough food and beverage. The area aound the pond now looks lovely! A worthy endeavor on Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Amen
DeleteYour wrinkles show your age darling x
ReplyDeleteI am afraid you are right mave x
DeleteMaybe a wee tot of something strong would help with those aches and pains.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to help! Looks so nice!
ReplyDeleteThe pond is looking great. The fence and footbridge are great features too. Seeing new creatures come to the pond is also excellent. Using muscles that normally are not used cause a bit of ache. A scheduled gym workout with a trainer would build strength and put an end to the aches/pains. Something to consider?
ReplyDeleteWho's the lazy bugger in the corner with a mug in his
ReplyDeletehand? X
Nothing as good for the soul as getting one's hands in the dirt.
ReplyDeleteIf your hands weren’t so dirty, one might think you were there just to supervise, lol. GG. Looking very nice!
ReplyDeleteDo you have newts in the pond. They are brilliant at finding water after their hibernation under rocks and suchlike. In one of our gardens years ago we made a pond and planted water plants and within a year we had frogs and newts. To my knowledge there was no other water nearby so we always wondered where they had come from.
ReplyDeleteNot yet pat but we will do a audit this spring
DeleteI much prefer working alongside friends. Fine weather helps too. The pond is looking good!
ReplyDeleteYou have clearly got management potential John! Sitting on your arse drinking tea and telling others what to do. That's what made this country great.
ReplyDeleteProbably the only moment he rested with a cup of tea, and that is what everyone notices. Weeding is miserable work
ReplyDeleteThe pond is gorgeous. You do a lot of volunteer work, John. You're a great role model.
ReplyDeleteA worthy endeavour!
ReplyDeleteA good job done even better for being done as a village team
ReplyDeleteGood job you spent most of the time sitting down with a cuppa or you'd have been even more knackered!
ReplyDeleteI’d worked for 2 hours before that cheeky sod
