So sorry. Do you get the anti-virals there? Hope you can really power down and roll through it without too much sadness and discomfort (I say sadness because it made me sad last summer).

So very sorry to read this. Your exposure to Covid is greater than most what with patients, their family members, staff, shopping, and numerous volunteer efforts. Still, I was hoping you might skate by. Take very good care of yourself, John...we need you!

  15. Paxlovid, the usual other symptomatic treatments. You know the drill. I'm sorry, John. My oldest and the grands there just went through this, all are better now. I'm sure the same will be true for you. Thoughts out to you, my friend.

  17. Bugger, Damn and ALL of the other rude words! You'll be feeling dreadful and you've got that assignment to complete. What bad timing. I hope the antivirals kick in quickly and you're feeling better soon.

  19. For what it's worth (maybe nowt), I have had Covid twice (and am completely unvaccinated because the first episode, before vaccines were available, gave me Guillain-Barre syndrome and vaccination after that was then deemed a risk to me). The 2nd bout was very mild. As you likely know, there is evidence that how hard you get it is genetics-related so if you survived ok the first time I'd expect little difficulty for you this time. probably good to get a real dose to boost immunity, actually. That's me being positive (not like me). And I forget if you've had it more than once already. I confidently expect you to be back to normal very soon. Hope you don't give it to Albert though (that's me being negative).

  21. Oh damn! Last month we flew to Florida for a wedding. 2 days later we both woke up with Covid. Mine started with sore throat. Ruined the whole vacation and prepaid activities. Took me a week to recover. Hope you are well soon

  23. I may have had it twice - At the very beginning and again a while ago - I had frightening shortness of breath each time - Iived on cup a soups and pot noodles because I couldn't stand long enough to prepare anything else warm - It's so chuffing sneaky x

No surprise, really. The virus is still circulating, but people seem to have abandoned all precautions and returned to pre-covid behaviors. Oh, well.

  30. What a bummer; I hope you have milder symptoms than last time. I had it for the first time last June and I was sick for the first 4 days but then I got the cough which was more annoying than being actually sick. Was positive for just over 1 week and just in time to go back to work I tested neg. I wonder if anyone else gets it from the weekend. Hope you sail through.
