Cozy

My bedroom is now sorted. The bare old floorboards, all of different widths that echo their age have now been washed clean and as the morning sun flows into the room , they are almost dry.
I always think my bedroom feels like a little boy’s room.
It’s tucked up in the eaves, and feels cosy because of that.

And it warms quickly when the sun shines down from the South.
Mary knows this, and has sneaked onto her favourite sunny corners of the bed.
She sighs loudly .
I climb onto the bed to write today’s blog and fall asleep within minutes, only pressing the publish button after stirring at dogs barking from the kitchen

  1. That is a lovely cosy bedroom John. I like to see the sunlight reflecting across the room. The tasteful artwork takes the edge off it being like a little boys room.

Lovely room. I sleep better in a blue room. I once painted my bedroom navy blue with white trim and I loved it. When we sold the house the new owners said the first thing they would do is paint that room so it would flow with the rest of the house. To each their own, I guess. I also love that quilt. 11. Thanks for the pictures of your bedroom, John. And thanks for showing the quilt at the foot of the bed. It is a lovely adaptation of the Dresden Plate pattern and I enjoyed seeing it. To me, the photos say that a gentleman with good taste and happy in his own skin lives here. -sandy from Kentucky

  19. It looks lovely and is a very masculine room. Alan has a blue room too, and a purple room and a red room ... he's just multi-coloured.

Dogs and cats soon suss out where the sun hits each room and at what times don't they. My three are all currently curled up fast asleep in the largest dog bed, with the suns rays making them look positively angelic.

  40. I always think a dark blue on the wall is very sophisticated ... but a tad cold. Having the sun come in gives it such a lift as does the orange contrasts; orange being my fav colour! Mary looks so content there in the sunshine I know why you fell asleep I would too. Looks fab with the quilt too!
